French Breton pianist Didier Squiban composed a very nice trilogy . Listen to one of them, it's called : Molene Ar Baradoz. Different, celtic but very touching too. It was played at my brother's funeral in Brittany in feb. 2008.
this is so cool. on the slower version (#18), it makes it sound all sad. but once they speed it up with other instruments in the backround and stuff, it makes it sound a bit more happier
I watch this video in my japanese class in school with japanese speech and japanese subtitles, i didn't understand anything but the movie was great anyway and the music was amazing!
As an ex funeral professional this movie moved me to tears. Why? Americans us, we just don't get death at all. Many times I was called out to a families home and the time the family needs to touched thier loved ones never happens. The Funeral Directors take them away and then you see them in a casket. Too bad our society does not take it slower to part with thier loved ones.............
my pain was so great with my mom dying in front of me at home, that I was afraid that the memory of her after she had passed would be forever etched in my memory.I couldn't bear to see her gone. I can hardly even type the word dead.
I am glad that I didn't see her leave the home...
It's amazing how years later u are able to start reliving the facial memories of her being young. For so long I only relived her being old.
I cry now typing this.It takes me back to that moment.
@peacequiet I still see my dad as old and feeble. I still can't get passed the time i saw him open his eyes for the last time just a few hours before he passed. They were eyes not to be found among the living and I knew he would not survive much longer. I still see those dead eyes. Slowly, I'm starting to remember him as the strong, decisive, humorous man he was until those last four years after his stroke.
Just saw this film at Roger Ebert's Film Festival last weekend. Amazing film and and amazing music. I knew I had to buy the soundtrack if I could find it, and fortunately, they have it on Amazon!
Joe Hisaishi is an amazing composer. Every movie he has contributed to, I have fallen in love with. I just watched Departures today, and the music and the movie are beautiful..
Amazing movie!!!
