@assviolations Actually, before Kill Em All was released there was no such thing as Thrash. You fail to realize just how big of an impact KEA had on the fledgling thrash scene when it was released. Bands like Venom, Anvil etc at best were proto thrash. It was Metallica who built the template for Thrash Metal with KEA without a doubt. Metallica helped form the Thrash scene in the early days along with bands like Exodus, Slayer atc.

There are a lot of bands who were playing Thrash before Metallica, if you're going to pin the evolution of metal down to one single band I'd have to say it's Venom, they inspired the Thrash scene (even inspired the Big Four, so check your facts) AND the Black metal scene.
