GW2 however is giving the MMO genre as a whole a lot of innovations, both mechanics wise and story telling wise. it has a persistant world including jumping and swimming which GW1 didnt, no holy trinity,dodging and loads more. GW2 isnt F2P, its B2P, and they're pushing for content expansions every 6 months. micro transactions will be there, but it will not be the whole of GW2.
i think blizz is aware wow is going to die, this annual pass is just to get a little more money out of whats left and the same goes for this in game sellable pet.

I just don't understand how Guild Wars 2 can go F2P with a full game experience.
As far as i understand Blizzard uses 130.000$ everyday to keep their servers up. Now i know that they have an endless amount of money and that they have millions and millions of subscribers compared to Guild Wars that has .. well zero now.
All i'm saying is, in the long run it will cost Guild Wars 2 more money than they have, cause it will be a succesful game, no doubt -

I think they should make it that they have to make it that you can only queue up for a dungeon if you go to the meeting stone. Like the instance portals for battlegrounds in vanilla. And by doing this they obviously need to remove the "Random dungeon" and probably make so that you can only get valor once at every dungoen every week.
And i think they should do the same to the BG queue up aswell. This way alot of social aspects of the game will return. :)
imo the random tank satchel should be something a group gets to roll on, if they go and make their own group and go to the instance itself. this would fix that problem and give dps / healers a fair chance on getting a satchel
Guild Wars 2 is going to be a fantastic game, my only worry is the patches my lack considering there isnt a monthly subscription. However, I firmly believe its going to take a large part of WoW's playerbase, I doubt it will kill WoW. But WoW will not be considered the dominant MMO, just a competitor.
@WrathofRS its just monks with no auto attack as i understand it. Also blizzard changed the talent trees to try and remove "cookie cutter builds" but there will always be a better choice than another.

I think if you use the LFG Tool it should create the party and puts everyone in a group, just like adding real id friends from a different server to a party, but you should be forced to actually go into the instance.
GW2 looks AMAZING. Having said that, SWTOR is rather impressive as well. I don't think that wow is going to be kicked into the dust, however it is going to have real competition. I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped to between 6M to 8M subs.

To be honest, who cares if GW2 'Kills' WoW? All the people who aren't open to change can stay on WoW, then - Doesn't negatively affect those playing GW2, so don't complain. @xNeighborOfTheBeastx Blizz is not killing WoW. They have everything they do in WoW planned. They care more about lore than the 20.000 hate messages they get each day.
The problem with being buffed while in a premade party, is that it will terribly upset the balance between group or guild players and people who play alone or with randoms. The people who form groups for dungeons are usually friends or guildies who already work well together and don't necessarily need the buff because of that. If you go into a dungeon alone, you know nothing of the people you're playing with and as such a buff is a great way to help overcome the lack of teamwork.
LFD buff is needed to balance player skill levels. If you remove the LFD buff, the runs would get worse. Using the actual entrances should give players (within the dungeon's level) the chance to get extra BoE loot drop.
I like what you said about GW2 being competition for WoW. It feels like people get so focused on what's going to be the big scary 'WoW-killer' that they forget that a good company will adapt when faced with competition, ultimately benefiting the players.
WowCrendor, I don't have time to watch the whole video now, but I'm going to leave my 2 cents.
The reason why people don't enjoy WoW anymore is because the fantasy aspect has been completely forgotten. When I was playing I would take in the music, scenery and rarely visit the same zone twice in one day.
If you just want to mash buttons you may aswell play something that is an easier thrill like HoN.

I'd rather WoW dies right now so that the other games that have potential can actually have the ability to use that potential other than their potential playerbase being taken from them before they even start.

I think if you use the LFG Tool it should create the party and puts everyone in a group, just like adding real id friends from a different server to a party, but you should be forced to actually go into the instance.

GW2 looks AMAZING. Having said that, SWTOR is rather impressive as well. I don't think that wow is going to be kicked into the dust, however it is going to have real competition. I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped to between 6M to 8M subs.

How to fix WoW:
1) Stop randomizing dailies. If we're forced to grind them, at least let us memorize a distinct path so it's not so tedious.
2) Get rid of phasing. It ruins the interactivity of the world.
3) Add world raid quests that give nice rewards, even for max levels.
4) Randomly-generated instances. Yeah, I know, "it's too hard" - you get $100 million a month, pay somebody to figure it out.
5) Classic pvp - solo BGing actual useful again, beyond getting entry-level gear.

6) World pvp - kill equal levels, get mad honor/rewards. Maybe add world pvp zones (i.e. arenas) like in STV, and keep them away from quest hubs.
7) Randomly-generated world events - but ones that are creative and varied, not the same thing over and over again.
8) Bring back fantasy. BC was successful because it was new and unique. If we wanted to see regular outdoors, we can go... well, outdoors *gulps*
9) Get rid of heroic raids. Make raids guild events, not weekly grinds.

To be honest, who cares if GW2 'Kills' WoW? All the people who aren't open to change can stay on WoW, then - Doesn't negatively affect those playing GW2, so don't complain. In all honestly I give my full support for Guild Wars 2 for trying something different. WoW seems to be the same stuff thrown at me every expansion or more random boring shit thrown at us to appease us and to be honest, it's not working. The more things they give me to do, the more I get bored.

@1234mikedaman No, GW2 hasn't come out yet. It's supposedly going to come out sometime 2012 or maybe early 2013. I have been playing GW1 for about 5 years or so, and I can honestly say that GW2 looks like it is going to be way better than GW1.

The problem with being buffed while in a premade party, is that it will terribly upset the balance between group or guild players and people who play alone or with randoms. The people who form groups for dungeons are usually friends or guildies who already work well together and don't necessarily need the buff because of that. If you go into a dungeon alone, you know nothing of the people you're playing with and as such a buff is a great way to help overcome the lack of teamwork.

LFD buff is needed to balance player skill levels. If you remove the LFD buff, the runs would get worse. Using the actual entrances should give players (within the dungeon's level) the chance to get extra BoE loot drop.

WowCrendor, I don't have time to watch the whole video now, but I'm going to leave my 2 cents.
The reason why people don't enjoy WoW anymore is because the fantasy aspect has been completely forgotten. When I was playing I would take in the music, scenery and rarely visit the same zone twice in one day.
If you just want to mash buttons you may aswell play something that is an easier thrill like HoN.
