  • Cause you are dead wrong.... and when I say dead, I mean that literally... your views will literally kill you some day... Your views can only lead to socialistic dictatorship, and the very people like you that drank the cool-aide, and were to stupid to use common sense about such issues as national self defense will be the very ones that will rebel the most and be extinquish first....

  • andrewh23.. I feel sorrow for your type.. you obviously have been brainwashed by the liberal professors that have fill your head full of crap and you don't know better.. You don't know yet that this is all about power and money and the liberal dems think they have the market corned in that respect... the sad thing is you will have to pay for all this shit some day and all us so called (old outdated farts) will be long gone... you will have to pay for your own views with blood sweat and tears..

  • That's where he's getting his cabinet from.

  • Whats Obumur gonna do with them? place them in your neighborhood? Put them next door to Jerimiah wright and Bill ayres

  • there is no point in closeing the prison because they will just ship them to secret european jails

they cant just release all of them because they will do acts of terrorism because they were in the prison and are even more angry its a sad world we live in

  • Oh yeah and one of the bills introduced is called the Cyber Bullying Act and it will make it illegal to hurt someone's feelings on or off the web. And all someone has to do is sign an afidavit that you hurt they're feelings and you get charged with a felonly and sent to prison for a few years. That's a total violation of first amendment and they're tyring to pass it now. So we're going to have our rights taken just like the people in gitmo have had they're rights taken.

  • Oh and by the way you think it's ok for the government to take away the rights of people in gitmo well guess what now they're taking away your rights. That's right the war on terror is about taking away the rights of the American people not some shadowy enemy in the middle east. They've introduced tons of bills in congress to strip U.S. citizens of they're 1st and 2nd amendment rights. You think it's ok to strip muslims of they're rights well then guess what your gonna lose your rights too.

  • This guy they call our president is absolutely nuts! Willing to sell our country out by closing Gitmo just to show other countries how humane we are and pay back the extreme left for political favors that got him elected. This president in training is ruining this country by his Chicago style political tactics and will not end until he is gone!

  • divernj31 Obama is not going to close gitmo and even if he did the detainees would just be relocated to one of the other hundreds of ghost sites around the world. All Obama is doing is paying lip service to the people that want gitmo closed but in reality he is expanding Bush's policies because he is just a puppet of the bankers just like Bush was. If you want the real story on Obama I suggest you watch full length high quality version of The Obama Deception for free on youtube.

  • We are creating terrorist faster than we can kill them. Reps just want to kill them faster while Dems are trying to figure out how to stop making new ones. The MIC needs an enemy folks, and Democrats will do if "we" don't let them have enemies abroad.

  • First "Harold and Kumar" escape from guantanamo bay, now this ???

The truth my friends, is far beyond our comprehension,

its been like this since the country was founded

  • The coolest video ever > watch?v=OJvSLCuilyA

  • Liberals keep saying we must close Gitmo but they never say where they will put the detainees. Many say they want to bring them to the US... hmm what state will accept them? What neighborhood will accept them? The answer is Gitmo is the perfect place for them.

How about we bring them and put them next various liberals out here that keep saying to close Gitmo. I'm sure those people would quickly change their tune. If they are so innocent why wouldn't you want them to live next to you?

  • Obama knew what to expect w/regard to votes on this legislation. This was a purely political move, engineered to allow Democrats a safe opposition on an unpopular issue.

  • fuck Democrats bunch of secret Republicans

  • Damn almost everything Barack Obama campaigned about was a bunch of bullshit. First of some of the Democrates are truly republicans. And some republicans can become Democrates. Why? Becuase they ARE THE SAME SHITTT! Barack Obama finance of Wall Street is exactly the opposite. Barack Obama troop pullout of Iraq flip flopped. He is worst than Hillary Clinton after being elected. Disgusting~!

  • emerto.

In case you just started paying attention. Democrats and Republicans are both Americans. Democrats have never been all that different than Republicans. WWl, WWII, Vietnam, Korean wars all started by Democrats.

Obama didnt flip flop on pulling troops out. He's doing exactly what he said he was going to do during the campaign. But the left only heard what they wanted to hear... they were so blinded by their lemming partisanship and the demonization of President Bush.

  • Bush didn't need to be demonized - the legislation he rammed through congress proved the point very effectively

  • bullcrap,

he didnt ram anything through congress

  • adrew,

let's see, you were what 15 years old when all this happened? So basically all you're doing is regurgitating rewritten history & left wing nutbag propaganda you drank the cool-aid on

  • ASSHOLE! Name and give the number of legislation that Bush rammed through congress. Your mother raised the stupidest kid on the block!

  • If you want the real story behind Barack Obama watch the full length high quality version of The Obama Deception for free on youtube.

  • Obama could have begun the process of bringing the troops home and closing down gitmo when he first got into office. Instead just like I told everyone he would do he is continuing Bush's policies which makes him just as much of a war criminal and a traitor as our last puppet president. The only difference between Obama and Bush is that Bush didn't have hordes of cult members worshiping him. Obama is just here to sucker people one more time so that they can bring in hardcore fasism

  • Its Very Simple:

AmUrica denies the needed Funds because they

do not want to close Gunatanamo Bay

  • they do not want to bring those detainees into US. i understand them and really Obama should have detailed plan for the scenario- Guant is shut down.

  • $80 fu%k million to just get on a boat or plane and bring the troop at gitmo home. bullshit!

Use $100 in bullets and kill all them terrorist and be don't with it.

  • I'll pay for the bullet if you shoot yourself. In fact, if you want to stretch it out, I will pay to put bullets in your kneecaps first. It's up to you. The sick moron who advocates summary executions of prisoners without trial is the only person who needs to be shot.

  • A trial? they were caught red handed there's no need of a trial. They should hev gooten what imfo they could from them, taken them to the shore line at gitmo and shot everyone of them. Then make fish food out of them.

  • What? You mean none of the states wanted to room and board terrorist? I'm sooooo suprised.

How in the hell does it cost $80,000,000 to move people.

    1. Get a plane.

    2. Fly to the terrorist prison in Iraq.

    3. That's it.

What a waste of time and resources. Just more crap to destract you from the real issues. :C

  • who told you iraqis would agree to accept that afgani fundamentalist shit in their country?

  • $80mil to relocate them"....RELOCATE TO WHERE!? You want them released...fine, call your congressman and tell them you will sponsor a "detainee" in your own house. BE PROACTIVE!!! What!? You don't think you want to have one of these "innocent kids" in your house!? What a shame....Hypocrite!

  • Actually, a number of American towns have been hoping to get them. A federal prison contract will bring a lot of money and new jobs to the town they would go to. Do any of your state's prisoners live in your house? Try applying your nonsense rhetoric to yourself first just to see if doesn't make sense. There are cities in northern Michigan that are prison 'suburbs' - with the majority of the city's revenue and jobs coming from prison contracts. We have murders in our jails already - so what?

  • We all need to embrace change as we are not a free nation, evil is evil no matter what its shape and size, we are in deep trouble here take the blinders off.

Our congress has no patience for true American beliefs, they want to control us and they are getting closer every day.

Please look, listen and be ready for change, God bless

  • hopefully i can leave this country before he gets too much control! next year is when im leaving :)))

  • Good riddance. Don't come crawling back a year later asking for money and a place to stay. All these pussies keep threatening to leave - GO AHEAD. No one is stopping you.

  • Oh, who cares if many of the detainees are completely innocent kids. Just let them rot in jail anyway. Take their lives away. Is that the american way ??

  • where is your proof that they are kids and are innocent???

  • That's the whole point. There is no proof either way. With your logic, someone is guilty until proven innocent ? Many were teenagers when detained 7 years ago because of their ethnicity and being at the wrong place at the wrong time. How would you like it if you were in jail when you did nothing wrong ?

  • you saying that we went into iraq and afghanistan and just starting picking people up and blaming them for no reason? thats insane! those people there are terrorist and i dont care if your 13 or even 80 a terrorsit is a terrorist! if the government would let our military do their job with less rules and politics involved this war would of probally been over by now.

  • If this were a conventional war, the soldiers would be let go when it's over. A war on terrorism (an Idea) can never be won, meaning all the prisoners you pick up from the battlefield will be imprisoned for life without charges or a trial. We let the nazi soldiers go at the end of WWII. Either a person was following orders from a country or they were acting individually, which means they should have criminal trial.

  • Why does the US constitution presume innocence prior to a criminal conviction? Don't bother making a bullshit argument that it doesn't apply to non-citizens. What was the purpose of this clause? Think about it.

  • please, stop demagogy. you are for your islamic brothers? tell islamic kids that islam is religion of peace and they should not participate in any jihad, should not kill or abuse any unfaithful, etc. that's the best thing you could do. no innocent kids in Gitmo.

  • Sorry to dissapoint you but I'm not a muslim. I'm saying try them instead of bullshitting for 7 years. At the same time,we could try Bush,Rumsfeld and Cheney and if convicted, we can send them to gitmo where they belong.

  • try them at Guant, right. don't bring them into US. as for bushmen, agreed. you can add Rice to the list, as well.

  • If they are guilty, why can't you charge them, convict them, and imprison them lawfully? What is the problem? If the evidence is sufficient enough to prove their guilt to you, then why not have a trial?

  • evidence may be a problem. they were taken into custody on the purpose of getting information about taliban. nobody thought about the trial and now it may be a problem if to put them at jury. in fact, my suggestion would be to return them into the country of their origin and make a trial down there by local rules.

  • THE LITTLE BOY OBAMA GETS BITCH-SLAPPED: Obama could always reach out and let the Gitmo detainees move in with him and his wife and kids and mother-in-law. He lives in a big house with guards, so whats not to like? Not only would he get to close Gitmo, he would be saving taxpayers money by NOT building a new prison. Works for me. Or, he could send them to Kenya, I hear his brother has a neat little shack and lives alone.

so. Bush lied, Obama complied? So now all is well?

  • It was a half baked idea from the start. I don't see what people expected here.

  • This is no surprise at all.

  • Why can't we just put these guys on a boat 50 miles off the coast and just sink it Problem solved. 250 less Muslims in the world.

  • I'd feel safer if you joined them. Do you know what they call it when a country breaks the law because it's an emergency? A dictatorship. Go to hell BK, or should I say BTK.

  • BK - What a moronic comment you make.

The majority of muslims are good people you idiot. It's the muslim extremists that are the problem. Many of the people in gitmo are completely innocent kids and their lives have been destroyed because of us. Automatically guilty. Do me a favor and get out of this country

  • Then the "good muslims" should stand up against the "muslin extremist"...but they do not (hmmmmm)...why? And where do you get "Many of the people in gitmo are completely innocent kids"? Where is your proof of this? The reports and interviews I have seen are that of the hardest core that no nation wants in their country. Thus, we are stuck with them untill our moronic government stops bowing to liberal idiots like yourself and actually PROSECUTES them.

  • Why have we not PROSECUTED them ??

Which moronic gov't are you speaking of,

Bush or Obama or both ?? Ofcourse muslims won't go after the extremist as long as we're doing it for them. We gave Pakistan 10 B to fight them. The money vanished. You're assuming I'm a liberal and a muslim. Wrong on both counts.

  • You assume that our government is actually run by our president...thus you have only one person to blame for this mess. How simple that is, and yet it is that simple-minded ideaology they want you to buy in on. BLAME ONE MAN! It is not one's man's fault this mess exists, it is the fault of government as a whole that has been bogged down by PC and fear of social retribution by the media and liberal groups who put the wants of the few ahead of the well being and safety of the many!

  • The government didn't go to war because they were afraid of liberal college professors - we went to war because they said terrorists were trying to kill us. The person who made that argument to the American People was the president and our congressional representatives, either out of fear of terrorism or fear of being labeled unpatriotic, supported that agenda.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot. We should throw Condolezza Rice in the mix. When you get a memo on your desk in August of 2001 stating "Bin Laden planning to fly planes into buildings imminent ". Don't you think that maybe you should prepare to prevent this ???????

  • Geeeze, and Sudan offered Bill Clinton Bin Laden on a platter on 6...SIX different times...whoulda made the whole Condelezza Rice thing moot. Again, no ONE person to blame!

  • keressa,

get your facts right stop lying. Rice never got a memo saying "Bin Ladin was planning on flying planes into buildings".

  • Fred - It's a known fact that Rice got that memo and nobody took any action. Look it up, I'm not lying. But you can also blame Clinton for not taking out Bin Laden when he had several opportunities.

  • Sorry kerasea,

It isn't "a known fact". The most that was determined during the 911 hearings is that the memo read "Bin Ladin determined to attack inside the United States". It's never been stated or proven as fact that the memo read "Bin Ladin was planning on flying planes into buildings." What you're doing is called "rewriting history".

Yes and Clinton can certainly be blamed for not taking OBL out when he had the chance. That I agree with.

    Peace-

    FredF

  • The cover sheet of the war games packet had a picture of the world trade center in crosshairs and a picture of Bin Laden. They had been carrying out wargames involving terrorists crashing jets into buildings for years.

  • adru,

    bullcrap

  • They were running war games on 9/11 that involved jets flying into buildings. That's why response time was slowed/nonexistent. Didn't you wonder why our entire Airforce could not shoot down 4 jets - the latter two with almost an hour of warning?

  • How many people of your own religion have you personally tracked down for any crimes they may have committed? We created these institutions called "government" and "police" to take on the responsibility of defining crimes and enforcing the law against those who break them. We WANT to prosecute them. We are complaining b/c they haven't been prosecuted and their exposure to torture makes future prosecution difficult if not impossible b/c it calls into question the validity of any confession.

  • no, you are talking BS, srry for saying that. none of those are innocent by-standers just rounded up by wicked americans. they were captured in combat situations.

  • You are either a soldier following the orders of a country or an individual acting on one's own. The former means you are imprisoned until the war is over (not possible with 'War on Terrorism'), and the latter means you are a criminal and should be charged as such. There is no third option that justifies permanent imprisonment without trial.

  • in fact, internalization of people is well known. remember japaneeses in US and Canada in WW2? still, those were civilians. in Guant, definitely militants though unproven. i don't remember what law or order was issued for internalization but something like that can be made this time, as well. still, i think the best would be just return them into the country of their origin and make a trial there.

  • Ronald Reagan gave an excellent speech in which he apologized for the illegal internment of innocent Japanese-Americans. These people were paid reparations. Over 110,000 Japanese-Americans were interred, 70,000 of them U.S citizens, meaning the US was their home or country of origin. The govt. has no right to put you in prison because of your ethnic heritage or race. Also, many japanese-americans fought for the US in WWII as part of the 100th Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team

  • wow. Reagan really did good thing. nothing like that happened in Canada, as far as i know.

  • Members of the 442nd performed so many distinguished acts that it became the most decorated unit of its size and length of service in the American Army. The unit garnered over 18,000 individual decorations for bravery, 9,500 Purple Hearts for casualties, and seven Presidential Distinguished Unit citations. 20 were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Unless your a Native American, we are all immigrants here or the decedents of immigrants. My mom was British and just became a US citizen.

  • "Definately Militants" - That is a bold face lie.

In 1988, Congress passed and President Ronald Reagan signed legislation which apologized for the internment on behalf of the U.S. government. The legislation stated that government actions were based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership". About $1.6 billion in reparations were later disbursed by the U.S. government to surviving internees and their heirs. "Definately Militants!" FUCK YOU! Racist piece of shit.

  • You manufacture history and law to serve your own agenda or confirm your own irrational beliefs. Even worse, you go online and spread disinformation, content in your ignorance and anxious to spread your multi-generational hatred. You should consider applying for a job at Fox News. They will probably give you a one-hour prime time special. You represent the worst part of America - in the information age, you never bother to investigate the validity of your own statements. It's sad.

  • who you? me? i never did nothing of what you've said. i just expressed my full confidence those people are militants and should never been brought to US. try them elsewhere.

  • Comment removed

  • $80 million divided by 240 is more than $300,000 per inmate!

  • That's chump change to the military. Most of our jets cost two or three times as much as that.

It would be cheaper for the US just to execute all prisoners rather than holding trials and putting them in jail. That pesky constitution demands otherwise. What a hassle huh?

  • Where in the American Constitution does it demand that these prisoners be given a trial?

  • These people are not criminals you frigin idiot.... they are terrorist that would like to take your head off and shit down your neck stupid

  • I asked why these prisoners have to be given a trial and if it says they have to be given a trial in the Constitution. They are in prison and therefore they are prisoners. I didn't say criminals, you lame brained illiterate asshole.

  • They are in prison, moron, because they are accused of a crime. We don't put people in jail unless they are accused of a crime. Too complex for you?

All accused criminals are put in custody by law enforcement immediately preceding their trial if they are an ongoing threat to the public. The constitution emphasizes the importance of a speedy trial so that this time is not unnecessarily long, especially since we believe that people are presumed innocent prior to conviction.

  • You dumb fuck! They have not been charged with a crime. If you think they have been charged with a crime, name the crime they have been charged with.

  • No shit - they haven't been "charged" with a crime. That is the problem. A formal indictment is the first step in legal process, followed by such things as plea negotiations, discovery, trial, sentencing, and imprisonment. Currently, they are being held under the ACCUSATION of terrorism or other related crimes without ANY due process.

I'm a lawyer - how many criminal appellate briefs have you personally written? Dipshit.

  • You stated that you are a lawyer. Bull shit! I asked you to name the legislation that you claimed Bush rammed through.

  • Terrorists are criminals. All criminals are entitled to a trial before a determination of guilt and imprisonment. Even the Nazis got trials. These rights were the foundation of this country and the reason we declared independence in the first place. I am more afraid of an American who would toss aside those principals than a terrorist. The former is a much greater threat toour way of life. An injury to justice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere - MLK. Ignorance and hate have blinded you

  • Where in the declaration of independence does it say human rights are limited to Americans. Do you actually need the constitution to tell you that people deserve a trial prior to imprisonment for 8 years? Regardless, the 14th and 5th amendments state that neither the State nor the federal govt. can deprive any person (not just citizen) of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. I had to study the constitution to get through law school but I think you should read it anyway.

  • Hmm..let me guess.

This is republican nonsense. Prisoners WILL NOT be released into the u.s. period. This is a FALSE talking point we have become so used to over the last 9 years.

Watch the 15 "democrat" Bluedogs queer every effort for a vote of 45-15.

It's shellgame. 3 houses in dem hands and the rethugs are STILL IN POWER.

  • Oh yes. Hardened criminals. No trial or proven evidence!

Many of these prisoners were handed over/used for Bounty money on the weight of hearsay. Your in-law or neighbor didn't like you & wanted to get rid of you or decided to make a quick buck. A troop of 20 year olds decide you are "with" the car in front of you. You fight back to protect your family.

Hundreds are in Gitmo based on no evidence whatsoever.

This woman is the face of accepted evil.

Cheney has her on a leash.

  • Squirelbutt........, has the best idea !

  • $330,000 per detainee sound right to me

  • In regards to closing Gitmo, it's a noble cause but it's easier said than done.

  • Well just quit funding gitmo period and release the prisoners on the island. Let the cubans deal with it.

  • Staying on the subject of Gitmo torture there is still going on according to Democracy Now 19 May 2009.

  • abarz,

hahahha Democracy Now. Yah.. there's an unbiased opinion.

  • "torture there is still going on"

    Observing Democrats is torture.

Hint to a clue: if it's part of the training curriculum of US soldiers, then it's not exactly a war crime.
