If you listen closely at 0:13 you can actually hear a guy in the background singing, my point being... i'm high as fuck and that guy kicked ass. T00L!!!
WTF! there is no way i guy sings this song!!!! i have been listenening to it all day cuz i just heard it last night and it sounds 100% like a girl is singing it! WTF!
I love the Travis Bickle look Maynard is rocking at a lot of the shows on this tour. Gives songs such as this one, and Aenima especially, a whole other dimension.
@primusucksbad that's prety easy don't you think? certain expextations of a million dollar band are high. And yes he misses a note or some power now and then, doesn't mean you dont appreciate the music.
generally when bands record a song with "noises" as justin plays that "whalish" solo and afterwards they play that song live, they can't reproduce that same noise, and sometimes a really different one as regards the studio version. but mr. chancellor here plays exactly the same thing. i think that's fuckin cool.
Having no visual listening to a live Tool show just is not the same. Their stage show is what makes Tool so amazing. Of course their music is superior over anything in this world, but the stage show is just to amazing to not experience.
@herbman3000 Thats quite true, though those dudes do spend a lot of money on their equipment, and rightly so. Nobody deserves that tone without spending the dosh.
@herbman3000 it's tool. that's maynard singing right there no doubt about that. been listening to these guys since 94 and been to about 6 live shows. it's them
@zachmasterzach i think it was pretty accurate 26 people need to listen to the album with it being a bit louder, it only does this justice if you have it at 320kbps
@zachmasterzach i dont know like could have been on purpose cas in the album version if u play a good quality version u can hear him sing the lyrics really quietly before he signs them loudly but ye it probably was a mistake XD
@MrMasticater the faint singing you hear on the album is because of the method Tool used for recording. They used Tape vs Digital. Since the tape is a physical medium, 'sound' can bleed through to other layers, which is why you hear him singing quietly before he actually starts singing.
@zachmasterzach Actually if you listen carefuly to the original, it's exactly how it goes: there's a subtle "reversed echo" of the second line in the background.
I came to listen cause of the dumb title "crystal clear audio" and even tho it's not soundboard the audio is fucking great. kudos

I just saw them in Albuquerque on 1-18-12. I swear to Bob every time I see them, they get better. I'll admit it I cried it was so beautiful.

@JinTheBerserk it is, i believe they play the song in C when they do it live, so its easier on Maynard's vocals

@primusucksbad I love this band but Maynard is aging, and sadly, so is his voice... It's still epic but it is getting strained :(

Gotta dig the natural warm sustain of Maynard's voice

His voice sounds tired at times. I miss the mid 90's vocal strength...
