From the sound of her voice she is smoking, a cigarette dangling as she is telling her car to start. Great if it is a womans very long cigarette a 120. Great vid. I have a 65 Volvo 544. It drove fine 'til November 09. Then, it would start. I added Heet and Stabyl(?) to the gas and charged the battery and used ether starter fluid into the air intake.. No luck. Maybe in July or August, I'll get it towed to my auto repair shop (when I have.more money to pour into it). Thanks for sharing....
I remember being in Saranac Lake NY in 1979, it was minus 44 degrees and the old Volvo (142) wouldn't start. A modern fuel-injected car with 5w30 synthetic oil would fire up immediately, but not as much fun to drive or to talk about 30 years later.
The starter motor is fucked, and depending on the time it has been sitting, it might need a carb overhaul. then put oil in the cylinders and it should fire up!
Nothing is wrong with the starter, we got it running after we changed the carb, fuelpump and ignition coil but that video is deleted by me because all stupid gay comments.
@Jobergg It is totally awesome seeing, and hear that car crank. I remember the video. Re upload it. Just disable being able to make comments. These are great cars. Hopefully that car you still got it. love to see more videos of you starting it, cranking it.
You guys are useless! Check for spark! One question....how long has she been sitting for? It sounds as though she's got dry bores....it won't have enough compression to start when the bores are dry(no oil)....about 30ml of oil down each bore a few hours before the next attempt would be wise!
I would love to see more cranking videos of this car. 6 minute videos if it is cranking that long till it starts. Did it start eventually. With was wrong with it. I would love in the next video to see the whole car. I love old volvos.
