  • @Emerald007007 It was shot in Ireland even though the story unfolds in Scotland

    .

  • @Emerald007007 Most of it was shot in Scotland. Some of it was shot in Ireland. The main scenic shots are from Scotland..x

  • Marvelous scene...Great song...Maybe the most beautiful movie theme ever...

  • not a dry eye in da theater except for me

  • i swear i cry while watching this EVERY time.

  • @happyispretty i was crying during the whole movie all the scenes make me cry + the music wow sooooo emotional , james horner is a legend

  • I looove this scene, and the movie is so fantastic!!

  • This scene is the most amazing scene I've ever seen in a film. Words cannot describe what I felt the first time I watched this movie. It brought me to tears.

  • Thinking about this truly makes me sad. The English killed his father and his true love. That will bring the ultimate courage out of anyone to retaliate and fight back with everything he has. Unfortunately for the English, they did it to the wrong person, because William Wallace was a natural-born leader and one of the greatest knights that had ever lived.

  • best film they have ever done

  • The proof that movies without music would be nothing, more or less...

  • Innocence is what makes this scene so wonderful...and that guitar when she looks down at the thistle before she presents it to William

  • This scene breaks me down every time! He's so alone, so vulnerable -and she sees it and comforts him. True love.

  • one of the the best scenes in this movie

  • Es la mejor escena en que se demuestra la pureza de amor, esos momentos determinan tu vida para siempre

  • its just the most touching scene in all my life.

  • hmm...wonder who are the 4 dislikes :-?

  • ...one of the best moving scenes of my SoulLife.....

  • I would die for being given that thistle!

  • Makes me proud to be Scottish. I believe all Scots woman & men have such strength & passion within them & i'm proud to call myself one.

  • SSsssshivers....

  • that thistle given as such is better than hundreds upon hundreds of roses T_T

  • THATS IT....im going to go watch Braveheart now and cry my arse off! T_T

  • The first time I watched this scene, I had so many tears in my eyes. Just touched me so much. =(

In fact alot of this movie touched me and it still remains one of my all time favorite movies.

  • No dialogue yet it makes me...

    Dang it!

*runs and cries at the corner*

  • Do not cry Akina.. Do not cry..

  • Ile razy oglądam tyle razy płaczę :(

  • its a thistle

  • Makes me cry every time

  • One of these wonderful scenes in the greatest movie of all time...

I cried like a baby at that scene...

This Manhood would need a lot of such brave hearts to turn everything to an good end...great respect to people like him..Urs from germany-

a true brother of resistence against supression to the little poor people.

  • This movie marked my life, i watched this movie first time with 10 year old. Great movie, but it's a shame that it has a lot of historic error, in Stirlings battle it was a bridge, and in the movie there is no bridge.

  • @Boifeicasempre I agree there having the Battle of Stirling Bridge without the bridge is like having the Wooden Horse of Troy without a wooden horse :-)

  • @gaconnochie Or having the battle in Omaha beach in the second world war without the beach.

  • @RichardElden you think we care the races in the film?

ps:it is non-anglos' turn for hate:)

  • im just an ulster man. nice wee song.

  • Total respect, I've cried to this video!

  • A true fearles warrior who spit on his enemies and laughed at the PEACE OFFERS!

  • the little girl i believe who gave him the thistle is william's love interest murron.

  • Great scene in one of the greatest films of all time !

  • @MKaspergenart exactly my words...

  • I am so touch to see the little girl pick up the thistle to give the liittle boy to offset the death of his father. I love this action, it is wild and touch together great music was display by whistle

  • I’ve never seen a moment that defines someone in such a vivid yet vague manner. Its remarkable what happens in just these few seconds. This is the moment his life truly starts. The thistle represents everything he would ever live for…..the thistle leads him to love, which leads him to this undying courage, which leads him to his triumph that ultimately takes him to his dignified death. I believe we all have these moments but they are impossible to capture, they just happen.

  • @bejaranob1

truly said m8..... its impossible to capture...

  • @bejaranob1 that's kinda corny lol

  • @bejaranob1 thistle is the symbol of scotland,so they used that with full awareness

  • @bejaranob1 Beautifully spoken!!

  • @bejaranob1 My father passed away when i was in this age, now im 27 and since dan im fighting not a physical fight but psychological fight with jelouse/bad/devil ppl every single day they alwayz want to put me down but i will never stop fighting, and i wish to die like him at the end with courage and honnor bcz im brave not a coward like them...

  • @bejaranob1 I lost my father when i was in this age, i cried when i saw this scene, and i hv seen many pain in my life and iam still facing the toughest days, so i want to be brave and i want to fight till my last drop of blood and i want to die like him with courage, bcz i have a brave heart not a weak heart like many many pepole nowadayz u see, cowards

  • @AFgGenius So be it William Wallace was NO coward but I dont think being Hanged drawn @ quatered was a fate to be scoffed at he sure was Brave a Warrior of the Celts who were strong and a force to be reckoned with.. The English were bastards! some things dont change! But England is being lost to Mixed race and we those of us who live in ENGLAND ARE BEING FORCED and losing our identity.... how ironic!

Give it 50 yrs and there will be No Britain we will all be European! The Greats have gone!

  • this scene touches everyone who watches it. We have all lost someone who is close to us... but we realize that there is still beauty in this world and we must press on regardless of our losses. I think that this scene is what is represented, regardless of age.

  • Powerful scene, no doubt

  • Who ever wishes bad things upon other people regardless of anything, is still wrong and most likely will suffer themselves. Leave Mel Gibson alone.

  • i love this scene!! i love this movie!! im going to scotland next weekend, cant wait ! :)

  • Mel Gibson is a genius.

One of the best scenes in cinema history, ever.

  • The little girl's expression...the boy's tears...and the music is just really killing me right now

  • One of the loveliest scenes ever filmed.

  • I'm crying as we speak...

  • the best scene in the entire world...

  • Pure and beautiful love xxx...no words necessary to describe genuine feelings....

...acts towards eachother does as well.

  • 2 people they dont have hearts..

  • СПАСИБО ВСЕМ!!!

  • pure love... not erotic but love. Where souls can be touched without any words.

  • Im scottish, I love this film and this scene. Sad but somewhat romantic....

  • the best scene all over the cinematic world!!!

  • Il est à chaque fois, partout et pour tous ceux qui font une personne un tel cadeau dans les pires moments de notre vie

  • This movie is just about as close to perfection as its humanly possible...its one of those movies that change you,..a movie after which you just stare into the screen with wet eyes until the credits are over....

This scene is very touching...but what made me cry (and i'm a male) was a bit later when they were adults and William gave her this flower wrapped into cloth...its just so powerful and touching....90's really were the era of cinematographic masterpieces (shawhank, green mile, this, etc)

  • what a touchins scene!

  • i love this scene. Scotland forever!

  • There is everytime, everywhere and for everyone someone who makes such a gift in the worst moments of our life! I received some as my father died and a few days ago when i remembered my bladder cancer ... For me, this flower is my son & my wife!

    Scorssia

PS : please AmonGoeth88 change your avatar! You do not realize what this name means!

  • After the "FREEDOM" scene this was the most emotional. Great score.

  • To watch a part of your soul be put under earth........and in the same day see true love....this is what keeps us all moving forward......Wallace was and will always be the true test of strength.......he lived for what we wanted......

  • this scene makes me cry 8( damn you james horner

  • This is pretty much one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history, and to think it was done by two kids.

  • I watch it a million times and still it brings tears to my eyes..

People saying perfection doesnt excist are full of crapp, this scene IS perfect!

  • just the music in this film, gives you emotions.... best film i've ever seen :)

  • this is my fav scene of the movie, makes you proud to be scottish x

  • I have seen this movie yesterday - again...
