Is it inappropriate to be smitten with America's next top FLOTUS?! 'Cos I in luv...smart, confident, accomplished, gorgeous, professional, maternal. Beauty personified!
I'm not taking Michelle's side on this, but she gave the same speech twice in one day, and the first time she said, "really proud" and the second time she said just "proud." She has lived a different life than all of us, so maybe that is true for her. It's not surprising the right wing jumped all over this because anyone who is critical of the U.S. should attacked.
The difference between the Clintons and the Obamas is that the Obama really prioritize their audience. hillary only seems to acknowledge power, wealth and whatever ulterior motive that will get her these. Personally I'm sick to death of the Clintons and identity politics altogether. The problem is that the Obamas get the classes, the Clintons get the masses. I'm glad it fell into place for Barrack, he should definately be the democratic nominee.
after 8 years of a president that is uninteligible, unarticulate and uninspiring. It is just wonderful and refreshing to see the exact opposite on the political sceen. Usually people this sincere, honest and down to earth stay away from politics. Thank you Mr. and Mrs Obama for having the courage and inspiring us all to be courageous along with you.
finally everybody knows that workin for WALL MART and being a first lady doesnt equal EXPERIENCE,we have to stop those cheap lies if you caint conrtol your house until your place is taken by MONICA, you caint rule a country.
oh? then who's the role model you want to follow? The Clintons? Cheating husbands hitting on interns and senator wife who turned her back on healthcare after receiving tons of money? IDK, you need to go get help. Obviously you're bitter because the Obamas are harmonious.
mystiqal...by "right side of the fence" I meant even though you are voting for the guy I support, you support Barack - a progressive, instead of one of the demonstrably failed conservatives. When I say "the best I can hope for", I meant that you are voting your concious and for someone who you believe in. More power to you!
AMAZING SPEECH, one of the best I have ever seen. you can see it on the campaignetwork site which is part of cspan. Follow recent videos see page 2 of 99. It is a great speech very moving.

Edwards gave Kerry more votes than he took. Edwards was shocked and dismayed when Kerry capitulated as soon as he did - they haven't spoken to one another since. Edwards has been consistent and more specific on his plans. He vociferously regrets his Iraq resolution vote. When I got around to actually researching and listening to candidates positions, Edwards came out a strong 1st for me - before that, I was an Obama guy.
Also, you are correct he is a talker, which draws people in, but he is a doer too. Years before he was ever in the public eye, he was doing community development on the south side of Chicago. Now that is the "cred" I am excited about seeing head to the oval office.
It was a great speech, I saw it on C-SPAN. She even rivals Barack! Do you know where I can view it again?
Actually, it says on Barack's website he does not accept money from special interests. In fact, he has vast sums of money coming from people just making small donations of $100 or less. Like Hotshortie(haha) said, "Grass roots money."
I agree with untellable. We need someone to stand up to the plutocracy and John Edwards has made it clear that's what he will do. Obama goes out of his way not to make the plutocrats uncomfortable. The MSM has its heart set on a "first" headline. The public policy dialog threatens them, so they are ignoring John Edwards as much as possible. Edwards has defined the problem correctly - American jobs - and he will work for ordinary people instead of the corporations.
I'm still hung up on the fact that Obama accepts money from the same corporate interests that have taken over the country and have rigged the system. Because he won't (and can't) take a stand, I can't give him my vote. That said, he'll likely win due to the momentum he has with less-than-fully informed yet well intentioned voters. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think Obama would make a great VP and a great President in '16.
I've done copious amounts of research on all the candidates and I was actually an Obama supporter until fairly recently. It's easy to get caught up in the cult of personality but upon scritiny, Obama just didn't have the cred that Edwards had - the commitment to change the specifics to back up his plan.
Obama is a good man but if you listen to his supporters, they all talk about the smoothness of the words, the way the words are written, the 'feeling' he imbues them with. Well that's great and all but there also needs to be some substance and concrete ideas behind the words. Also, many ignore or are completely unaware of the fact that Obama is a corporate darling.

actually a lot of Obama's money is grass roots money.
I can see what your agenda is, and I don't by that you were ever a Obama supporter.
