master system... in 1994 :s Understandable that it wasn't released. Damn the Sega Saturn was about to be released. And there was the original version already been released on Genesis. They could have simply ported it to Genesis. That would have been simpler and much better than this poor result .
You have a copy of battlemaniacs for the sega master system? What system are you using? Are you using one from north america? or one from europe or brazil?
I got a Sega Master System III from brazil 150€! But when you got a Cartridge you can also play it on your Europe maschine but you must open the Cartridge like the us Versions but make no misstake you can break the inside of the Cartridge while open it!!!!
The music may sound stranger as the guy who made the video was playing it at the wrong update rate so everything including the music is playing too fast.
Man, Brazilians get all the coolest Sega Master System shit! I just ordered like 3 games unavailable anywhere else (Cosmic Spacehead, X-Men and the Incredible Hulk). Those aren't my top picks for rare games to play, they just were available at the time. They have titles like;Earthworm Jim, Virtua Fighter, Robocop3, Mortal Komnat3,Sonic Blast and Street Fighter 2. They still produce games for this system I think.
Cosmic Spacehead, The Incredible Hulk and Robocop 3 were actually released first in Europe. But yes, the rest of the games you mention (the X-Men game being X-Men Mojo World) are Brazilian exclusives.
Actually, you can finish the game. But there's a couple of glitches, and some levels don't feature music at all. Mostly, it's the same game released for SNES but with some limitations and restrictions.
I suspect there had to be something in production, because it's so weird to port a SNES game directly to the Master System (and we're talking 1994 here) and not to the Mega Drive. Unfortunately, nothing has ever surfaced to the light if existed.
@Alianger It has to be. Virgin Interactive also announced it for the Mega Drive. It ended up cancelled before release in the same or similar vein as the Master System version, and TecToy only got interest in acquiring the Master System version.
I actually own a copy of this game for the Master System :)

The music sounds like nothing... this version is not bad but the sound of the "instruments" are strange. And why didn't they re-used the NES sprites?

Pretty impressive port.. Wonder if there's a genesis beta out there as well?

I haven't seen one of Battlemaniacs, though there are Genesis ports of the original Battletoads, as well as Battletoads & Double Dragon.
