  • Thanks for this!!! love your man shed!

  • thanks for the video....

  • hi! :) thank you for this video. I'm wondering, though, how much larger the cut pieces are than the template.

  • Why not more easily use earth magnets on the piece to raise the template. They should hold the template in place as well as providing space.

  • thanks for sharing

  • Normal coin shaped rare earth magnets work well.

  • How about using the rivet feet AND use a couple of strong magnets under three points of the template? No arc deflection and the template would not move.

  • grate vid very help full ive just got a 3in1 tig plasma cant wait to use it over xmas

  • Just bought my first plazma cutter, thanks for your help.Pop rivets are a great idea.

  • Interesting videos, nice work.

How effective do you think it would be to use flat, rare earth magnets as the feet? One could salvage them from old computer hard drives (actuator magnets). Would make sense to use em for steel, and they won't slip as much either.

  • @AntiProtonBoy Thanks for the comment.

Yes, it's a good observation - I have already tried this technique, using gearbox sump magnets and it works very well.

There is some debate over whether the magnets would affect the arc - but unless you get very close to them, I really don't think that would be a problem.
