Wow! What an unfair comparison this was. All of the sections for Vibeke were cut from the final copies and, of course, sound better while all of Mary's stuff was cut from small studio sessions. They're both really different and really good.

They both make the songs sound really unique in different ways.

For Tristania's general sound I would say Vibeke. (I love old Tristania)

But Mary knows how to sing and she still manages to pull it all off. The new album is amaing anyways. Stop hatin'!

I don't use to listen to Tristania songs but Vibeke has a wonderful voice. It's too much depper than Mary's voice. Of course for those who like lyric voice, but at least it was a nice choice and Mary has a "behave" voice. It's was't what happened to Nightwish... A HUGE mistake. xD

I like them both very much. This is just like the whole Tarja vs. Anette thing; it's useless and ridiculous to compare them, since they have different voice-types, and different styles.

Granted, there are some songs I enjoy more with Vibeke, but I'm already starting to have favorites with Mary, like Libre for instance.

That shit sounds so awesome with her voice; but I prefer Sanguine Sky with Vibeke. I say enjoy them both, because they're both gorgeous and awesome singers. Viva Tristania!

I don't think Mary sounds right with Tristania. With her Tristania isn't going to sound the same and I most likely will not like them anymore. The only reason I like them in the first place was the gloomy effect their music had.  It was rather gothic and the beautiful female voice was just perfect for that type of music. I think we're comparing apples to oranges here.

Vibeke is amazing. But she has obviously had training in opera and classical vocals. So she had phenomenal range and whatnot. Mary has told us in her intro videos that she had a blues/rock background.

I love BOTH singers. Although I like Mary more cause she's got more of that Alanis Morrissette/grunge/rock edge to her.

But I LOVED Vibeke too when she was with Tristania and i will miss the unique sound the band had.
