The ridge pool would not be the government revenue collection point that it is, had it not been for the formation and construction of the boxes/traps all those years ago. Don't be fooled, the people who assumed control for the lively hood of the salmon stocks were the very people who killed thousands of huge springers and grilse every year for years. They still do it albeit through the general public now, but charge them for doing so whilst still having the boxes to hold up the fish, shame.

Yeah, the Ridge Pool is probably the most expensive place to fish in all of Ireland, as well as that one needs to book about a year in advance.
Need to be rich to fish in there, most people have more chance of being struck by lightning, than fishing there for a day. Upstream and downstream the prices are quite reasonable with a good chance of success when conditions are right.
Any eejit could catch one in the Ridge, hundreds of Salmon in there....

i wanted to fish there isn't it 300 euros or something beautiful country and especially county mayo ive got alot of relatives there
