BTW, have you guys been eating out and having japchae, bulgogi, bibimbap, korean pancakes, or naengmyeon? For the love of god at least tell me you've tried some good Korean food :D
hii. honestly, did you not enjoy your time there? i'm only asking because i want to go to south korea to teach english also and i'd like some insiders' perspective (the good and bad). if i'm going to spend a year there, then i'd like to have some insight to the lifestyle.
thanks!! (and... that washing machine ending was G-O-L-D. ahahah)
Seriously people, lighten the hell up. This video was clearly meant for entertainment purposes. Quite frankly, I found it hilarious. In case you didn't realize, they're acting. You guys with these negative comments need to take the sticks out of your asses.
@ibirogbap Well... some of us actually care how Koreans view us and there are those of us that would love to be in their shoes right now. I'm trying to finish my Bachelor's so my fiance and I can go... and these two are totally ungrateful, what a great opportunity for someone that would have appreciated it. But again, if this is "rural" Korea, I am not worried too much where we are placed when we go :D
I can't wait to eat Korean food everyday... nom nom nom :D
@captainpegs07 "Pair of fuck-ups in any country they'd be in."
Agreed.

It is possible for a joke to be taken too far, and obviously, if you can't tell by the reactions, this one was taken too far.
This is why they say there are too many unqualified English teachers in Korea & at the same time you are doing a hugh disservice to other dedicated, hard-working English teachers in Korea.
this clown does not deserve to be a teacher. a quiet rural place there is one of the nicest assignments too that want to take in the culture. if you don't like korean food, fish, culture etc then korea is not a place you should go because it's not a right fit.. this redneck is an idiot.
Hey guys in videos! Why don't you enjoy the country life more actively.
They can go swim near east sea and or go fishing, climbing Mt.Baek-am and enjoy bathing in Baek-am hot spring area. looking around traditional market etc..
If you didn't want to be put in the situation where you were working in rural Korea, you shouldn't have opted for a non-metropolitan position with EPIK. I mean, you could have gone with a private school.
You guys also knew nothing about Korea before you went, and that's a recipe for disaster. My advice, make the most out of what you have... don't be whiners...
@youbustubus Yeah... maybe they should have taught in rural China first... my friend lived there for three years, she didn't even have hot water for a shower. It really gets to me the amount of people that complain once they get to Korea... but then again before I ended up going to the University of Michigan, I grew up in rural area of Michigan. There's something to be said about the kind of people that live in rural areas... they tend to be nicer than your average person.
Very well put together...but wow I have never seen a Korean so flaming as that gym owner..haha. Is he always like that or was he just acting for the camera?

Whenever I watch these vids by a lot of expats... I learn more about the expats than about Korea and Koreas.

What was the name of the school? I'm looking for specific places to apply. Other than the gym, for an entire year+, is there anything to do?????

what a lovely place you live in... unfortunately not for you though. i bet the village is full of warm hearted people.
anyways... you could've told the korean teacher how to pronounce "teeth" properly instead of making fun of her on youtube.
