Guys, if you have heard parts of "this music" elsewhere, it's probably because this piece uses a very ubiquitous choir sample. It is an excellent sample set and thus it is very popular, and you can hear parts of it in quite many places.
As an example, Medieval 2 Total War intro uses the exact same "Agnus Dei" sample as the beginning here, and I would wager the other songs you have listed here also use the same choir samples.
this song, is just, amazing. I get the chills everytime i listen to it. Is there a place were you could upload the track so its available for download?
Yeah, it was in Kuroshitsuji... I guess they didn't put it in the Kuroshitsuji OST because it's not their song...they used it from here... But they mixed it so it sounds different..
The boy singing in latin 'Agnus Dei', has been used by various composers throughout movie history. Only the background music is different in every song. Mostly the boy's singing became known by the movie "End of Days" since it has a very dark theme in it. You can listen through the soundtrack and notice, many of them have different background music, but the singing in every one is the same.
@eXelonGaming The first place I heard it used was in "Complete History of WWII" arranged by Paul Farrer, then in one of Rammstein's songs, and finally it's being used in several trailers. But... do you know if that particular bit of stock audio has a name? Similar to the way the scream in every Lucas film is the Wilhelm Scream.
YES! This is the track I've been looking for. I have found something strange with that new movie "Vampires Suck". In the first few seconds of the trailer they play the first part of this song! I'm serious! Someone confirm, please!

... the attack against the SD Ravana has detiorated. We have lost the GTD Delacriox, and the surviving warships in the battle group are damaged ...
... with your Helios Torpedos, you may just have the firepower to take out the Ravana. ... If we succeed, we will have secured the nebula beyond Gamma Draconis. If we fail, we pave the way for a shivan invasion of our systems.
I love this track, one of my very favourite ones from Freespace 2.
I think my favourite usage of it is by the Freespace campaign conversion team, for their post-GTD Krios' destruction briefing in Silent Threat: Reborn. Really conveyed the loss of the Krios, and the grim situation that the GTI rebellion had placed the fledgling GTVA in
epic. another brilliant track with an very strong "alien" feel to it. perfectly suited to the dark & mysterious nature of those aliens (one of the coolest villains in scifi btw). this could almost be considered the shivans' theme song :)
exactly ... i would recomend you downloading freespace open .. its from the freespace modding community that's still alive and kicking .. the whole game has been overhauled with high rez graphics, explosions etc
im getting errors with the open insaller, and on another note i love this track when going agianst the ravana it told me i was going on an suicide mission
if you look through the "source code project" forums you will most likely get the answer ... if i can remember correctly i had similar problems when i first started .. turned out i had to change a few files first (or something) .. keep trying tho coz its worth it so much.

I hear this music in other places, like WoW, and in Medieval 2: Total War. Does anybody know if the piece was created by, or just used by Volition?

Good luck Pilot. We know you can do it.

@TheWarren099 Just a reminder, friend, the Helios torpedo was not introduced until the battle with the Sathanas. You're thinking of the Cyclops. :-)

It's a real, "Yeah.. Here's your parting song. Goodbye, son" kind of feeling, to have this song play in your briefing.
