@velkom These guys have never heard of raw meat diets and agility training. This keeps their weight down and they are very healthy. Much more than the typical fat pitbulls. Ignore them.
Neither one of those dogs is near 80#. *0 is actually too heavy for a bull breed and 75 should be about max for breed standard. My Amstaff went around 60# for 14 years.

@dissinU12 Whoever told you that a 22lb ptbull is healthy has no knowledge of dog care. A dog is malnourished if you can see his hips and spine. The fact that they are staffs/pitbulls make no difference, Ideal weight means you can feel the ribs under the skin (but they are not protruding) and you should most definately not be able to see that many bones. Sorry mate but if your dog is being free fed (allowed to eat whenever he wants) and is still that skinny you should see your vet ASAP.

@mrsul13 I think these dogs are thin. I've had bull terrier breeds all my life, including 12 Staffs averaging about 3 stone (approx. 40Lbs) and although I appreciate I have always had the best of the litter and you're right on the average weight, these guys look under wieght to me. I think we all need to be aware that due to the unrestricted breeding, particularly between siblings, staffies average size/wieght and the general health of the breed is decreasing. That said, these guys look happy!

They don't even have to be trained WELL not to bite. These dogs were bred not to be human aggressive hundreds of years ago. They are one of the most human friendly dogs you will ever come upon. They also make for a bad watch dog. They make great alarm dogs because they are terriers but a burglar could rob you blind while your dog shows him where the good stuff is.

The black dog is emaciated and looks horrible. His spine, pelvic bones AND ribs are sticking out a lot. My dog is skinny but he just looks sick. I hope he was just adopted because if not, his owners are TERRIBLE!

fucking idiots, stop making these types of dogs more fear than they already are. 60% of dog related bits/death are from rottweilers, and we only hear about pit bulls. I wonder why, its called ignorance! Before people get back to me about the rotties, i love Rottweilers! I have many friends that have them and they are like any other dogs if you are a responsible owners, amazingly powerful but gentle at the same time.

You should be able to see last 2 ribs, and on some dogs you can see backbone at that point- but NEVER hipbones. The APBT standard even says, no hipbones. That black dog needs a little beefing up.

They don't even have to be trained WELL not to bite. These dogs were bred not to be human aggressive hundreds of years ago. They are one of the most human friendly dogs you will ever come upon. They also make for a bad watch dog. They make great alarm dogs because they are terriers but a burglar could rob you blind while your dog shows him where the good stuff is.

I agree that the black dog does look a little lean but thats pretty normal. My little buddy is an AmStaff and he eats like a damn horse but stays super lean. I mean seriously, I feed him at least 3 times a day and he gets table scraps! I shouldn't give human food but I can't help it. He loves it. I can see his ribs and bones, he's just super active and works it off I guess. He does have some super huge turds! Wich arre a pain in the ass to dispose of. Just take it easy on these people.

I breed staffys and those dogs are too thin.
if you go to your local butcher they might mice you up some dog mince, this is just the parts the butcher cant sell. meat mixed with fat, great for growing dogs.
anyway, interesting to watch this. i think despite the size, the short legs and muscular jaw give the staffy an advantage.

I just love how some people think they are DR. Corren all of a sudden. A dog that is properly fed, you can still feel the ribs but shouldn't be that noticeable. You don't have to be a dog expert to know that! Fucking idiots like these guys ,is why powerful dogs like pit have a bad rep. By the way, the word PIT BULLS does not exist.
