Once, after a Royal Command Performance, Alan was standing in a receiving line to meet the Queen. Queen Elizabeth said "Hello Mr. King", to which he replied "Hello Mrs. Queen." Judy Garland, who was standing next to him, laughed so hard they had to take her out of the theater by a back entrance. What a funny man!

I was watching a Southwest Airlines commercial which the bags fly free. I couldn't help but think of the bit that Alan said about flying and losing luggage. A funny man and a good actor.

Alan was a charming man with a great speaking voice. His story on the Tonight Show regarding his lost tuxedo is an all-time classic.
