How did you choose the tempo for the piece? I am working on it now and play it quite a lot faster because of the meter 2/2. Maybe you know something about the piece that I don´t? :-)
I believe this recording is on an electronic piano that uses organ samples, not a real organ. I'd love to hear the piece played on a real pipe organ <3
@DarkZekeX I don't think it is, I think that's just the mp3 compression from the upload. Anyways, I'm sure we'd both love to hear it played LIVE on a real pipe organ!
That's the kinda elitism, though, that people like Cage and Feldman hated when dealing with the avant-gardists, like say, Boulez.
The music is for anyone who happens to like it. Or for people who don't like it, for that matter. Smarter people than I hate this music, and dumber people can't get enough of it.
why do you think that this is a bunch of horrible noises for most people? Are you "most people"? Can you speek for "most people"? "Most people", I guess even you, are listening fascinated to such music in most kind of movies, for instance.
I really enjoy this video. I've watched it several times on different days. It is curious how it seems to change when combined with different soundtracks.
I posted the same video for several pieces of music. However, the two videos contained in each music video are two separate routes (actually, just about reversed routes) at night and day.
Is that a static glitch on the video?

John Cage is a testament to experimentation in music and for that he is ingenious.

lol what are you people going on about? If John Cage wasn't in the title, there wouldn't be these noise/modernist/avant garde/elitism conversations.
This piece is sooooo accessible and tame. just freakin enjoy JEEZ!

do you think that being a smart person, has something to do with finding this music like a great piece of art?
i mean, most people would think this is just a bunch of horrible noises. Being that most people are idiots

no. i think intelligence is better displayed by the proper practice of punctuations. Watch those commas.

eh? you got something against my use commas?
how dare you?
=)
in my opinion, just the smart ones go for, either experimental or avant-garde music, don't you think?

How strange that it sounds like Arvo Pärt. I've never heard this Cage piece before. Apparently it was written in 1983.

It does... doesn't it...
I like it...
(BTW I'm Estonian, as Pärt. I feel so proud! :D)
