Thanks for posting this. I remember going on the Nickelodeon Studios tour when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I remember them taking you to an area where artists were working on Ren & Stimpy cartoons and you got to see some of the live action game show sets. It really sucks how much Nickelodeon has changed over the years and how they got rid of the studio in Orlando.

Nickelodeon closed the facility because the network's viewers lost interest in game shows. They wanted scripted programs.

Nickelodeon couldn't produce scripted shows in Orlando because actors refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando.

Also, the number of visitors to the complex tanked in the early 2000s.

Nickelodeon soon found itself with fine production facility, but nothing going on inside of it.

Then in 2005, Nickelodeon made the decision to close up shop and exit Universal.

Because of Sun Sports, FSN and Blue Man Group, the complex @ Universal is still standing and traces of Nickelodeon are still visible.

Doubtful. There just isn't any reason for Nickelodeon to try to open a production facility outside of Southern California.

Actors dug in their heels and refused to move from Hollywood to Orlando and there isn't anything to indicate that the situation has changed.

Nickelodeon leased space at Hollywood Center Studios to stage BrainSurge. Their scripted shows are recorded in and around the Los Angeles area.

The time capsule is still around. It was moved to the Nick Hotel and is located just outside the main entrance to the building.

It is still scheduled to be opened as planned.
