  • I joined the military when I was a little younger (19 I'm now 22). Childhood dream of mine that I worked hard for, for a long long time growing up, and it was torn apart by diabetes. I've gone a long time ignoring how it emotionally effected me and putting to the back of my mind how I felt and what I had lost, but this brought it all back like it was day 1. We all struggle through, we all have ups and downs. But remember you are not alone. If we have to struggle, lets struggle through together.

  • FAIL

  • this makes me want to cry

  • my dad has diabetes :(

  • @bren0104 me too :(

  • I dont have Diabetes but I have a array of other severe medical conditions, and this song fits me too :)

Anyone fighting illness, keep hanging on and keep fighting.

  • so sad :(

  • i am 14 and have type 1 to me the worst part is how it messes with you emotions cause thats the bit you cant control also how sleepy it can make you but everyone gets sleepy and all teenagers get moody and after 12 year im used to the injections so i don't see it as something worth complaining about to be honest :)

  • oh my god. i listen to this song a lot of time but i never pay attention to the lyrics. no wonder people cry whenever he sing it. i almost did too...

  • I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2001 at age 3, I didn't understand why people were 'hurting me' and that broke my mother's heart. It's been ten years now and a lot of people are surprised when they find out how long I've had it. In those ten years diabetes almost took my life twice when I fell into ketoneacidosis, when my body shut down at age 8 and again at age 9. People didn't like me staying over and treated me like a freak because of it, I don't remember NOT having diabetes.

  • this isnt just for diabetes sufferers...i have tourettes syndrome and i really take this to heart.

it always gets better guys, hang in there!

  • not just for people with diabetes but anyone, with ANY problem, stay strong!

  • i love rebecca black

  • diabetes since i was 11, type one

    <3 im 18 now :)

  • love this song... i'll always have a place for Nicholas in my heart. Although my fan craze went on for four years with him, and i moved on, I still love him. He gave me one of the best nights in my life on November 18,2010 in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. I love you. You mad up most of my childhood.

  • buena musix.

  • Fighting Crohn's Disease, this song gives me hope that there will be a cure someday

  • There's only one song that can make me tear up. And it's this one. I love the Jonas Brothers!

  • I'm crying, I MISS THE JONAS BROTHERS!!

  • I Can Really Relate To This Song, I Have Type 2 Diabetes since I was 10 years old; Diabetes is for a life time and some people don't understand how it feels to fight for your life everyday ! But For all the people that have diabetes don't give up NEVER ! Life is worth everything !

  • This song gives me hope. Thank you so much Nick, you've inspired so many.

  • i have type 1 diabetes. its finger prick, after finger prick, after finger prick. and shot, after shot, after shot. but i would rather have it that be dead. this song explains it so well. this song helped me so much. thank you nick.

  • This song brings me to tears every time. <3

  • When this song came out my family and I had just learned my Granddad was diagnosed with cancer. Even though there was no cure, I always turned to this song as it had given me hope. I don't even imagine what people with diabetes or any other illness which is incurable go through, but hope should be given to them and their families. Thank you Nick Jonas for sharing your experience and hope.

  • this song is beautiful

  • my dad has diabetis

  • i feel soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad for nick

  • I can't say I can understand the pain Nick and all the others who suffer from diabetes feel, because I don't. I know it must bring a lot of fear and pain, but I also know it's much worse then I think. To all the people who feel this pain, or the pain of any disease: may God bless you.

  • this is music is beautiful . you laugh at all of diabetics will suffer in the future.

  • this is music is beautiful .

  • Not a Jonas Fan but I gotta say that I like this song. You can try and try to explain what it feels like to be fine to be living a happy healthy life and fighting every day to live with the needles and the blood and feeling like you're some sort of factory second but no one gets it unless they got it.

    Team Type 1!

  • this is such a sad song love jonas brothers wants to make me cry when i hear it :'(

  • I miss the Jonas brothers so much!!!!!

  • anyone care to explain what this song's about i really wanna know

  • @Karnvir16

Nick Jonas is a type 1 diabetic who's very open and vocal about the disease, its about the diagnoses and your future and the fear that nothing will ever be 'normal' again after that. I'm not a fan of these guys but I do respect them for being quite frank on the matter and for giving a lot of young diabetics a very visible role model.

  • T.T

  • We brought my brother to the hospital just 2 days ago.. I still can't get the image of his face out of my mind when they told us he had Type 1 Diabetes. He's just twelve he doesn't deserve this, no one deserves this. There will be a cure, there better be. I pray for everyone<3

  • @UStrumAndLetMeHum im so sorry when i was 9 years old my brother was 10 we were in the swimming pool and my brother was curled up in a ball over in the corner of the swimming pool so my mom saw him and she brought him up to the emergency room and he was almost in a coma his sugar was in the 1000s i almost lost my brother that day. i will never forget that day

  • for all you people who say your not normal anymore, you are normal with diabetes. your just on a strict diet >< so shut up

  • I had diabetes for 14 years . No, its NOT because I ate too much candy or anything . I have type 1 . You say you know what its like , no you don't . The ill days, finger sticks, shots, being low, being high , boarder line dying . No , you don't have the slightest idea about the shit i go through. Every single day , every hour. No , you don't know. I'm 15 years old . Diabetes is my life , I will never be just a "normal" kid. The feeling that I may not wake up, the worries of a adult placed on me

  • diabetes runs through my family. my mom is borderline. and if i grow up healthy i will hopefully not get it. be strong people!:)

  • im a type 1 diabetic and this song means so much to me, i cry listening to it. and everyone with diabetes, there finding a cure, its on the way, keep your head held high. god gave us diabetes because he knew we were strong enough to face the challenges and he has faith in all of us. keep your head held high and hope for the best and stay as healthy as you can. <3

  • I know this song was about Nick and how it felt when he'd gotten diabetes, but I can really relate to this song cuz I have bipolar disorder, I was dignosed with leukemia, AND I have type 1 diabetes. It's good to know that someone like Nick Jonas has the strength to write a song about how he feels about his illness. Now ill kids can always turn to a song like this to make them feel better :)

  • @TuccTownLaydii i no how u feel with bipolar i have it to

  • I don't have diabetes but I DO have juvenile rheumatoid arthrits. I've had it since i was 1 and a half and I'm 12. I cant do any sports, I can barely do anything with my friends, and most of time, im sitting at home doing nothing because i can't go out. So i love this song because i was in the hospital for about 2 weeks, and the doctors kept saying I'd get better. But never did. I love Nick. (:

  • My son has Type 1 D. He was diagnosed at 3 1/2 years old. It's constant finger sticks and shots. It's holding my breath every morning, fearing that today will be the day that he doesn't wake up. It's frequent trips to the emergency room. It impacts every other aspect of his health. It's him never being "normal" again. It's extremely high medical costs. It's fighting to keep him alive. But it's a fight that I will NEVER stop fighting.

  • @TheMarshedpotatoes my brother has type 1 diabetes and i am really sad because i dont want him to be sick i am so happy to have him as my brother and i love him to pieces he was diagnosed when he was about 10 years old

  • @brat01247 It's so hard to watch someone you love suffer like that, isn't it? Chronic illness affects the whole family. I'm sure he is lucky to have you. Hang in there! I hope and pray every day for a cure for diabetes.

  • @TheMarshedpotatoes oh. God bless you and your son :) ameen

  • Hi. I have type 1 diabetes which means my body pruduces very little insulin. Insulin is what breaks down your body's sugar. Because of this, I take shots of insulin when I eat so I can break down sugar. Having diabetes DOES NOT mean that you can't eat sugar. Sometimes you need to if you don't have enough sugar in you're blood. To find out how much sugar you have you prick your fingers. It stinks but it is something that you learn to live with. Hope this helped!

  • yeah im sck of people only thinking bout diabetes cos nick has it, well how bout ppl who live with it!?

  • i always cry when i hear this song...

  • this made me sob im just goin back on all da jb songs wen i used to love them...

  • My dad has diabetes, he's had it for... idk anymore. He's 46 now and he's always trying new things hoping it'll help. He is one of the healthiest men you'll ever meet. Its really hard to see him try and fail over and over. He believes that eating right will cure anything... but so far its only made him try harder.

  • love the line " you dont know what its like to feel so low" love hte double meaning behind it . im a 15 year old been diagnosed near 14 years now a week after my second birthday . it could be talking about the hypos but also about the days when you think why me?

  • This song is about Nick Jonas's diabeties. Its so sad :(

  • im 11 yrs old and i have diabetes and i been listen when ppl laugh at me because i have diabetes so nick thx for making this song for me and u are my role model thx and i am girl if u are woundering

  • I have had diabetes for 11 years and i am only 12. I was diagnosed a week before my first birthday. A lot of my family has diabetes but none of them got it at such a young age.I wake up every morning and think to myself another day of being different. So all of you who just think about diabetes because of Nick just shut up. Other people have diabetes and they live with it so shut up

  • @monkeymonkey48482 we care for nick but others who suffer from diabetes, the song represents people who have suffered from diabetes not only nick

  • I may not have diabetes but i was diagnosed with a different disease and i know it isn't easy. Keep strong Nick

  • I don't know the Jonas brothersvery wel but not only Nick must recover but all the people must recover from this diseases.

  • @demiselenafan131 you spelt doesn't wrong. Jus' sayin'.

I don't have diabetes but I have a really high chance of having diabetes. Both my parents, both my nans, my pop, and so many other family members have diabetes. Some of my family members even need to take insulin so many times a day. This song gets to me every time I hear it, not because Nick sings it, because it has a meaning behind it. Read between the lines.

  • the first time i listened to this song i cried like a baby!my grandma died of Diabetes and this reminds me of her. I love you Grandma you in a better place now!

  • nick dont give up i love u sooo much

  • @mason1189 well nick does. -.-

  • My grandfather died of diabetes and I know how hard it is. When i heard it from my grandfather I was chocked. But my grandfather was then it think 70 when we discoverd it but the doctors said that he had been it for 20 years before they discovered it. So I think I now how Nick felt when they had discovered it. I have respect for him, because he supports children with diabetes and this song is really beautiful!

  • I hate how people say that Nick fakes his Diabetes. I mean, who would fake a disease!?

  • @VerifiedWeirdKid Actually, I know a lot of people who would. It's for attention.

  • @shannongal3 But Nick wears an OmniPod insulin pump to help him manage his condition and breathe. How can you say he fakes it now? -.-

  • @mason1189 This song isn't just about Nick battling Diabetes everyday. It's about people with Diabetes, Cancer, and other diseases like those, and also how people don't care about them until someone famous mentions it.

  • @mason1189 this song isn't just about nick battling diabetes everyday. its about other people with cancer and such.

  • I hate how he acts like he's the only one with diabetes, there are a LOT of other people who have it.

  • i have diabetes and my teacher asked if anyone had it so i put my hand up and this stupid Bitch started laughing and then this woman on the bus turns to her son and says dont eat too much sugar and you'll or you will get diabetes, im sick of people doing this, im reall struggling at the moment :( ive had it for just over a year

  • @ilikegr8tedcheesex im so sorry! people are mean and most people dont have hearts and dont understand whats it like to go through something like that. if only their was a class for teaching people how to treat others with respect........

  • @TayLoVeSyou41 i know right, like my mum was in hospital and she was telling this nurse that i had diabetes and she asked did she eat to much sugar? ?? A NURSE said that

  • @TayLoVeSyou41 ikr??? that'd be the best thing ever!!!!

too bad no one will take it..

    unless it was mandatory..

    which it should be

  • I know a lot of people with diabetes. I am currently planning a walk for diabetes and think this song is very inspiring!

  • My brother has Type 1 Diabetes and it's very hard for him to control. He struggles with it every day.

&& For all the people that think people get Diabetes from eating to much sugar, you piss me off. That is NOT at ALL true. That is a very FALSE statement.

Know your facts before you act all smart and think you know what it is when you dont.

  • Its made our relationship quite a bit stronger in my opinion. Hes finally found somebody that he can relate to and I've found somebody that I can completely understand. He is amazing! The kids at our school, however, think that it people with diabetes are way different and they constantly make jokes about it. I plan on singing this song for the school and explaining diabetes and how it REALLY is to everyone to make it so they appreciate them a little more. Looking forward to kingdom come. - Emmy

  • I had diabetes too. They thought it was going to be the death of me because my blood sugar was so erratic. One day the opportunity of a very risky pancreas transplant came into play. I had this procedure when I was only 8 1/2 and it wasn't guaranteed to do much. I am now 16 years old and I've been diabetes free for almost 9 years. My boyfriend has had diabetes since he was 7. The fact that I had diabetes has really helped me understand what he's going through.

  • I know a few people who have diabetes

This is a very inspiring song <3

  • not true...i have plenty of people in my family who has it and has died from it and its not kewl...:(
