  • My one escape from this mad insane world..my kingdome for a time machine.

  • My favorite Ronettes song. It doesn't get much better than this. It's only the three girls on this one, so we get to hear them in all their true glory. Thanks for the posting and great video!

  • Who could not Love Love Love this Bubble gum Music ? No One. Great Music to grow up to...........

  • The 1 dislike must work for the DMV. They don't like anything...

  • on all the great ronettes songs, including "do i love you", it is so easy to hear cher and sonny as part of the background vocals, way before they were sonny & cher. but i never see it mentioned. noticeable too on "baby i love you". it is amazing to realize how long cher has been singing....and still going strong.

  • @MikeCinSantaMaria..Only the 3 girls were on this recording. No other back up singers were used on this one. Sonny and Cher were on others, most noticeable on "Be my Baby". You can really hear Sonny's nasal voice come through on that one, especially in the "sessions" recordings of the back up singers only, posted elsewhere on YouTube .

It is a real treat to hear the Ronettes just by themselves, using the Wall of Sound.

  • should be i million 500 thousand views. come on people look and spread the word.

  • GREATNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • One dislike! What are you deranged you fool, idiot, moron and complete and utter prat!!!!One of the best ten records ever made.Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.

  • @73soulboy agree with you my friend, simply the best girl band of all time

  • I guess if I had to pick my favorite Ronettes song this would be it.

  • I hear this song and it plays in my head...All day long....just like it did when I first heard it (when it was released). Please stop it.

  • Damn, this is great

  • Great is the most over used word however as a lover of classical/jazz etc this is the best track of the pre ' Dare I say it Beatles era )

Very very clever at that time .

    Phil is something else !

    Consumate song.

  • All These Decades later....

Still Getting Chills listening to this.

  • I hope you people don't think I'm nuts but this song, oh this song makes the hair on the back of neck stand up. I listen tot his song like it was the only song ever made.

Yes it's that perfect. These groups are gone, like the wind that blew on those days.

It's a shame. No one makes music like this anymore. it was like it was supposed to be made just the way it is. Even God likes beautiful Music like this..............

  • @theprotector5874 perfect description mate, those were our days

  • ONE OF MY TOP 5 SONGS OF ALL TIME . THE BEST GIRL SINGING GROUP EVER. LOVE THERE MUSIC

  • keep coming back for just one more time..girls.. sorry i never at the time recognized just how good you reallywere.

  • @rudeman15 me to allways lesley gore the crystals angels so on so on

  • I saw Ronnie Spectre at an outdoor concert in California in the 80s. Just as she started to sing Walking in the Rain, the rain started to pour down. A lot of the people got up and left the concert (can you imagine) and she kept right on singing. She has always been strong. May we be able to enjoy her for years to come!

  • @Mikes66442 I don't dispute that in it's time and place, the music of The Ronettes, The Shirelles, The Chiffons generally and the Phil Spectre sound, all 4 of which I adored musically, was unsurpassed. But in my opinion, for music to suit every mood, produced and performed with meaning, you can hardly compare the 2. In fact, why compare? They are like chalk and cheese.

  • Not a bad song for sure, but dont go overboard about it. Listen to some Billy Joel, then you might just wind in your lines.

  • @willmurphy1951 Sorry Billy Joel doesn't even come close to this.

  • @willmurphy1951 Ick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just melt when i hear this lady sing!,saw her few years ago in bilston for only the second ever time, would have seen her again in november in birmingham last year but the bad weather forced her to postpone the flight and i dont think it was ever re-scheduled.

  • GREAT SONG LOVE THEM

  • Saw Ronnie perform over the summer..Still sexy as hell and still made you feel she was singing only to you and just you. An all time favorite.

  • behdoc, what about WINS

  • My favorite, absolutely!

  • 7ov9 yes i remember summer of '64, best of times. just got my DL and listened to BeachBoys and wall of sound....almost didnt go back to school...these songs bring back fantastic memories of the Jersey Shore, Boardwalks, beach and fun.. then real-life set in.....

  • A real MASTERPIECE! It`s great that people still love this music despite the fact you can`t find it on the radio with very few exceptions! See the Top Comment on this, it almost brought tears to my eyes!

  • Greatest of Girl Group Songs!!! :)

  • New York City! Summer of '64..The sounds of WABC and WMCA ! New York City's own Ronettes.

  • Comment removed

  • very good. it take me way back to that time.

  • This is arguably one of the most beautiful songs from that era of the "girl groups".

  • @DerGlaetze the intro of this record was used in a radio commercial for the action house in long island a book the girl groups has a whole chapter on the major groups like the shirells and the ronettes the lesser groups like the cookies get a paragraph

  • @spacepatrolman

I believe it. I was just 8 or 9 years old, when this song first hit the airwaves here in the L.A. area.

I never forgot it. It is such a thrill to hear it again, after all these years.

It still gives me chills in my entire body, from start to finish. A person has to be made of stone not to get the same vibes. It's almost a spiritual experience, in some strange, good way.

  • What can you say about this accept it captures a number of thoughts and sounds of the times. More versatile than it would appear.

  • OH!! That's me again! I'm 8 yrs old and I'm wearing my cute little dress with my skinny legs and I'm standing across the street from the bank!! HAHAHA!! Mom Sylvia took that photo too!!!!

  • Wow! THAT's a photo of ME standing next to the Railroad Sign! Me, Bronx ACE!!!!!! (Mom Sylvia Took that photo!)

  • BEEOOOOTIFUL!!! Long Live the Ronettes!!!!

  • @aattura long live the 60s allways a big big part of me i was born in62 but in the early 70s used to lisen to my sisters play a lot of lesley gore angels crystles so on so on i dont recall ths ronettes love them to

  • "...Everything That Love And Life And Living Is Suppose To Be..." It should have read - "Everything That Love And Life And Living Is SUPPOSED To Be - " (wink, wink) :-)

  • I was a real hood starting High School in Detroit and every time I heard I would light up a cigarrette so I could be COOOOOL like the song.Ronettes Best Ever Song.

  • i was stationed at El Toro Marine Air Station in SoCal 64-65...listened to KFWB radio station..wore this song out on the juke...

thats when you could actually understand what the groups were singing....

chased the surfer girls down at Laguna Beach...great friggin memories..

  • Grown man - cry.

  • brilliant song,I remember the first time they played the Plaza ballroom in Old Hill UK,they introduced themselves,Estelle was last and she said,I'm Estelle,I'm the sexy one and then she laughed but all us lads agreed with her, lol, truly a brilliant group and oh they were happy times

  • They were frickin rock stars.

  • God, No Other Sound In the World Like This Song!!

    Ronnettes-------What Voices!!

  • KRLA??? Oh my God.......you must be from Southern California, when KRLA and KHJ were out hottest radio stations! Wow!!!

  • DOESNT MATTER WHAT SONG THE RONETTES SANG THEY WERE ALL GREAT SONGS.................BRING BACK THE GREAT SONGS OF THE 60S......JHS64..............

  • It was the Summer of 1964 . . . I had just got my license and bought my first car, a 1955 Chevrolet. That was the best Summer of my life. In August, as Summer drew to a close, I was sad to see it ending and having to go back to school so soon. Then something truly incredible happened - my Perfect Moment was created. This song came out and It was the perfect song to capture my perfect Summer. I wish all of you can have a perfect moment, too. Thank you Ronettes, present and departed.

  • @7ov9 What a sweet 60s memory. I know exactly what you mean. I've had perfect summer memories like that too... Life back then seemed so hopeful and sweet.

  • @SherryAnn68 I think we were born at the perfect time to have music so closely and beautifully capture all our most cherished moments. The music isn't gone as long as we keep listening to it. God bless.

  • Man...what gets me is the "Uh, Uh, Uh"....that sound they made still gives me goose bumps today as it did as a child the first time I ever heard this classic record.

  • Man do i remember..pulling up to a stoplight with the top down on my 59 vette and this song blaring out of the speakers..now in my twilight years but will never forget these special moments..just do not make music like this anymore..period

  • DO I LOVE YOU======YES I LOVE YOU.

WOULD I DIE IF YOU SHOULD EVER GO AWAY

    GOD I LOVE THIS

    RONNIE====

  • Ronnie in her bio Be My Baby says in June '64 Phil bought the 1st demo of Do I Love You to her home. After they ate dinner they went to her room & he put the demo playing on her record player. "I looked over at Phil sitting on the edge of my bed, saw a tear in his eye so leaned over & wiped it away...he was embarrassed that someone caught him crying & I just had to kiss him...he wasn't sure what to do next ...that's when I took control...I knew for sure I didn't want to be a virgin anymore."

  • @Rowland108 Oh how i would have loved to have been Phil at that moment :)

  • @Rowland108 Phil Spector abused Ronnie.

  • Love this song!!!!!! Love the girls also!!!!!!

  • Do I love you & Pet Sounds

Recorded at Gold Star Recording Studios

Back Ground Music The Wrecking Crew

    What Can I say

    PRICELESS

  • with this song in particular, you can really hear it's influences on Brian Wilson's production in "Pet Sounds"

  • LOL look the old Grand Union supermarkets. didnt they give plaid stamps?

  • Can't beat those 60s groups. Just makes you want to sing and dance.....And the Ronnettes were the best girls group of all...

  • 1964 was an amazing year. This song, and then those four lads from Liverpool arrived here.

  • Probably the best song on YouTube; I love the way it starts out, low and mellow....I could listen to it all day long.

  • @unclewalt56 Totally right. My vote on the greatest record ever made. I remember a 1979 D.J, said he was going to play the greatest record ever made and he played this. Oh - was he ever so correct. Do I Love You- The Ronettes- The greatest record ever made. I don't care what anyone says.

  • @jameycruz2 -- and by the way, you did one helluva job putting this video together, it's just perfect for this song.....

  • @unclewalt56 I totally agree, the best here. A great song from the best era...for sure!

  • @unclewalt56 Well, I still think that Be My Baby is better, but this one is right up there, quite a sleeper. It should be played at the opening of yet another Scorsese film, like Mean Streets. The more that I listen to the Ronettes, the more that I realize how Brian Wilson was influenced by Phil Spector and the Ronettes. A lot of Wilsons later work (i.e. 1990's and up) borrows these sounds.

  • Aw man, what memories hearing this unearthly sound again. "Be my baby" and "Do I love you" were the two greatest records ever made. Period.

    Thanks for posting.....from London UK.

  • @blueukeangel17 - couldnt agree more - love the 60s sounds - they dont produce them like this anymore.

  • @ssaylor423 - it was a sound for the times-- a unique combination of The Ronettes voices and Spector's "Wall of Sound" using fantastic musicians from the "Wrecking Crew". Sadly we'll never hear the likes again and perhaps it's best left like that. As Spector himself said once in an interview--- "It's all about the timing"................

  • I have been obsessed with this song for days-what is it about it? Wall of sound--moments lost--our youth, how blessed!

  • This group was amazing. Ronnie's voice just goes right through you....straight to your heart. Love this song....!!!!!

  • cool vid

  • @donkey3213 You are a disgrace to the uploader of this video.

But from a clone donkey what can you expect ?

  • @donkey3214 You are a disgrace to the human population for being alive.

  • @DickDArbiter Would you prefer if I came back as a ghost ?

  • I am amazed at jimmygale who is deaf to comment here. How does he hear the song? Perhaps he just looks at the pictures...lol !!

  • Here we are 46 years later and this song STILL rocks, and it will 46 years from now.

The junk they call music today won't be around in two years. This song is brilliance in every regard. Spector was a genius and the Ronettes were his greatest achievement. His Wall of Sound lives on.

  • In a way, it's too bad that such a fine artist..producer, arranger and writer such as Phil Spector is in prison. Such a waste of talent who developed that great wall of sound. This one by the Ronettes....is my favorite......and always will be. Thanks jameycruz2 for posting!!

  • @jimmygale But jimmygale how can you hear this song when you are deaf ??

  • @TACYELLA2 Only half deaf, donkey 3214!

  • @jimmygale Did somebody buy you a hearing aid ? You have been deaf for years.

  • @jimmygale his best days were long past him.

  • wore this song out on the juke at El Toro Marine Air Base, SoCal.

    '64-65...great memories...

  • ah before the Beatles changed everything, what a great song

  • @clempo no, not really ...this was right in the middle of the British invasion

  • Do I Love U...Yes I Love U!

  • should have charted higher in '64!

  • I am so stuck in the era ! I guess its because the music was so beautiful . Summer in New York and the Ronettes !!!

  • A totally underappreciated song/record......love that Gold Star echo chamber. This is the summer of '64 for me!

  • I LOVE this song...It sounds so good to hear it again after all these years. Ronnie's voice is like an angel...LOVE<LUV<LOVE

  • How come this disappeared from my favourites.

  • Terrific song! I love Ronnie's voice and the background harmony. Nothing like a Phil Spector production!!

  • beautiful!The anthem for the 1960s!

  • Ok now how many times are they going to delete this song.

  • Spector's greatest production in my opinion. Love how the horns carry it to the end.

  • Like the Kardashians....except they had TALENT AND SOUL.

  • @BartA22 they're nothing like the Kardashians...in any way...these girls are beautiful

  • @BartA22 Yes, these women were very feminine, too! The three of them were also very well-mannered; they had grace.

  • Great Tune and Video..thanks for share James...xx

  • If I had one song to take with me, this would be it. .It's just the greatest thing I ever heard in my life. I agree, Martha and Jimmy.

  • @jameycruz2 Oh God, I Love This. Thank You. They Are The Best!!

Spector Sound, Ronnies Tremello, Damm! This Sound, No Words To Say!!

  • @jameycruz2 Play this at least once a week to remind me how great music once was. A production masterclass and spot on vocals (as ever with Ronettes). Great posting.

  • that's the VERY best of them,

    what a sound, thank you

  • Thanks for posting this.....in my opinion, this was their greatest hit and brings back great memories.....Spector's great WALL OF SOUND
