  • Herry must have been crashing at their place that night.

  • In the left corner, Ernie!

And in the right corner, Bert!!!

  • lmaoo i love this :)

  • Bert's Laugh

    HLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAHLAH

  • i know lol it cracks me up soo much && erine's laugh too :-D

  • Seems like Bert & Ernie with Herry Monster watched TV together all in one chair.

  • Hooray, a skit where Bert finally gets his way. Hilarious.

  • ha ha ha chair chairing i like wordplaying jokes

  • loool at the 3 of them fighting over the chair and tricking each other. that is sooo fricken funny. Love those 3. =)

  • "I haven't seen an elephant on Sesame Street."

Don't worry, Bert. He'll smash up your apartment in the future during the pattern game.

  • I guess Bert has never met Horatio Elephant before or, maybe Horatio Elephant wasn't on Sesame Street at this time.

  • This is LONNNG before Horatio Elephant's time.

  • Haha on you guys. I've got the best chair for TV watching

  • Now I know where they got the idea for Joey & Chandler from!

  • This must have been from the mid 70s

  • Classic seasme street rocks

  • Theres a dinosaur?! NNOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • Kheeheeheehee YOURSELF!!!

    XD!

  • I thought they were watching a marching band!

  • Bert to Ernie:Go Watch the Window good boy! and when Ernie tricks Bert with the Elephant and Ernie does the laugh and Bert copies Ernie's laugh, that cracks me up!

  • LOL!

Why did Ernie and Herry monster bother to steal the chair, if they were not interested in watching the show which was on TV that time? They just wasted good tricks...:-)

  • It wouldn`t be a problem if they had a remote.

  • ss6mcnally's version of this video is soooo much funnier!

  • Bert had i first...

  • This wouldn't be a problem if Bert and Ernie would just buy a sofa. :)

P.S. Bert calls that rock and roll! LOL! "Real Hip! Swing!" Hahaha!

  • "Fine Ernie, if that's the way your gonna be about it......IF THAT'S THE WAY YOUR GONNA BE ABOUT IT ERNIE!"

  • "You can't do it, Bert. No chance."

  • So brilliant!

  • I miss these guys. I wish I was small again to watch this again. My favorite part is 2:15-2:24.

  • Where is this quality of writing in kid's programming today? Simply humorous, timeless, and still relevant. I laughed at this seeing it now in my 40's just as I did when I was 6 or 7...

  • Score for Bert that he finally tricked Ernie on something!

  • I don't think Bert is cool enough to like the Beatles. He is a respectable nerd. Says, "Swing" to marching band music. Then he's on to "the weather" and "The Wonderful World of Pigeons".

  • It's not that kind of Beatles. Figamaga!

  • Does Bert like The Beetles?

  • If a chair can hold two people, doesn't that make it a couch?

  • sitting in a chair watching tv, you'd never see that in kids programming today....what has the world come to?

  • Kc-kh-kc-kh-kc-kh! Yourself.

  • Too bad tv couldn't stay like this forever. I'm 45....watched this stuff when I was a kid and it still makes me laugh. Bert is such an oddball. "Wonderful World of Pigeons"! HA! Cracks me up.

  • lmao

    Bert gets mad

    1:02

  • Ernie saw Snuffleupagus again.

  • ernie says:kkkkkcckkkk

    bert says:kkkkkkcckkkk youself

    lol

  • i love how herry just randomly bursts in at the end=]

  • ernie is a gangsta!!!!

  • hey cool videos do u hve a video of bert in the basement

  • I love Bert imitation of ernie's laugh ;) Chair sharing LOL!

  • This was when Sesame Street was a great program. Watched it lately? The whole pace of the show is wrong now. Not at all like the Classics.

  • Oh yeah. Swingin'.

  • The two of them have the greatest laughs. The gargle and the hissing-chuckle.

  • I REMEMBER THAT AND IT WAS FUNNY.

  • Know what I love about Sesame Street skits like this? There are barely ANY cuts in the entire scene. It's not bludgeoning the viewer with a new cut and a new angle every 3 seconds. It's counting on the viewer to actually have enough patience to sit down and watch the entire damn thing without losing interest.

We need more shows like this. :(

  • Excellent point and agreed. I only wish I could mod up your comment more than once.

  • Harry is so random. Where did he come from?

  • I'm guessing the theme (educational or whatnot) of this Sesame Street skit is about sharing.

  • If I was writing this, the chair would have collapsed under the weight of two Muppets guys and a hairy monster.

  • I'm imagining of Bert is watching his favorite program on UPN.

  • Listen at the very beginning...Sounds like Bert says "It's TAME for my favorite television show" instead of "It's TIME for..."

  • Bert doesn't always speak standard English.

  • An elephant on Sesame Street? What's so strange about that? They already have an 8-foot-tall talking bird.

  • isnt snuffy an elephant?

  • I believe he's just a Snuffleupagus. He was never seen by anyone except Big Bird for a long time. I have to agree that he's very elephant-ish, though.

  • lol, Herry hijacks the Television after he tells Enrique & Bert there's something out there. That's funny stuff

  • LOL!!! :D This is hilarious! "Alright! If that's the way you're gonna BE about it!" and bert all up in Ernie's face. I'm still laughing. :D and bert laughing with glee. The sarcasm! hilarious. Genius.

  • Bert's chair looks a little like Archie Bunker's.

  • These guys need a couch, the chair thing isn't working.

  • Who the hell does that blue thing think he is to come in and take their chair...its not even his house

  • Bert was gullible enough to believe Ernie's elephant lie but to believe Harry's lie that a dinosaur escaped the museum and somehow got into the bedroom? Could someone tell them how to get to Bellevue from Sesame Street?

  • Herry sounds like George Carlin the comedian ,very gruff.

  • The main reason they invented remotes. :)

  • lol, bert and ernie always remind me of my brother and i. i'm ernie haha.

  • Heh, Ernie is such a dick sometimes.

  • It's a shame about Ernie and Herry leaving Bert at the end.

  • If Bert and Ernie had a couch this problem would be solved!

  • lol, what I've noticed is that ernie is a real pain in the ass. He's suppose to be Berts best friend and he always seems to make Berts life that more complicated.

  • Nobody says "You're squishing me."

  • LOL yeah that definitely wasn't Rock N' Roll. Ernie was so defiant too when he first took the chair.

  • hah dinossaur is alive run for livessssss

  • Ahaha it's amazing xD

  • What are Ernie and Bert watching?

  • um i think it was berts favrait tv show im not relly shure

  • That sounds like Beer Hall Music. Or a German Oompa Band! I love Bert's nutty laugh!!

  • LOL they remind me of Joey and Chandler on Friends. Joey/Ernie, Chandler/Bert, esp the episode 'where no one's ready' with the chair fight haha so cute.

  • Oooo Ernie was being a bit bossy to Bert when he said come back tomorrow for his chair and no chance.

Also Harry the monster yeah i remember him that was classics when he told them a dinosaur was in their bedroom. And someone must've left the backdoor open for him to come in.

    Funny skit.

  • "Oh yeah. Real hip" XDD

  • You should hear Bert's laugh in German, its freakin weird! Anyway good skit!

  • In the days before remotes.... ;o)

  • I like the marching band.. What was the name of the tune?

  • finally!bert wins and gets some peace

  • His Favorite R&R Band? Sounds like symphony to me.

  • i remember the one about the h flashing on the tv, and the letter i afterwords. this one is a great clip from the past.

  • Wow- that was awesome! I think I vaguely remember this one from childhood... I love Herry's line- a dinosaur escaped from the museum? What- did the bones come to life or something? Outside of God's intervention, at least Ernie's story about the elephant was plausible! LOL :-)

  • Herry looks better with the purple nose. :)

  • Yeah, but at least here his nose wasn't all furry like it was in his really early days.

This clip is great except for the last part. I kind of would have preferred it if it had simply ended with all three of them watching TV in the chair.

  • these Ernnie and Bert skits are absolutely the best in that era... Sawing14s, keep it coming...

  • How would Herry have gotten into Ernie & Bert's apartment anyways? Is he tight with Ernie?

  • That was one of the things I liked about this skits...the way that it's so subtle that Herry just happens to be in the apartment and Bert and Ernie don't pay it any mind. No "Hey! How did you get in here?" I also liked the subtlety of Bert not being afraid of the dinosaur, he just wants it off his bed.

  • Remember the one where the TV kept flashing "H"

  • Yes. I really want to see that one.

  • Yeah. Someone post that one. :-)

  • too bad can't just pull back his hand and p-slap ernie, in front of all the kiddies.

  • Oh Wow! What Great Writting! They sure don't write like that on Sesame anymore. ;) _Eric

  • The weather? Actually, Bert does seem like the type of dude who's favorite channel would be The Weather Channel

  • Yeah, I wonder if Bert would've creamed himself with laughter after getting cable and finding TWC? Him to TWC is like a Republican to Fox News.

  • ...and, if you recall, Bert also has a bottle cap collection, and is after the coveted "Figgy Fizz" bottle cap at some point...

  • Today, on The Wonderful World of Pigeons, we examine the statues of Central Park.

  • Was this before television remote controls?

  • yes that is true...

there was this time that [gasp]you had to get up out of your chair to turn it on or off and Change Channels

also they did not have cableTV either you needed rabbitears to recieve the signal...then after the invention of CableTV we gave the rabbit ears back to the rabbit.... :-)

  • I always said if they ever modernized this skit, B&E would've had the remote on top of the TV.

  • No, they had remotes in the 60's. They just didn't use one in this skit.

  • LOL! That was one of the best skits yet! Bert got the whole chair afterall. I liked Bert's trick-when Ernie comes back Bert laughs at him!

Bert needs to go out more if he thinks that that's rock'n roll!

  • hahahah that's funny!

  • What kind of TV is it?

  • How should I know?

  • A black and white TV of course. :-)

  • What makes you say a black and white TV? It's probably the same TV set from the H sketch and that a had a blue H in it, which would indicate a colour TV. And also, it's 1970s America, surely they'd have a colour set?

  • no, it was 197x, so it was color! It's the US!

  • You've heard of flatscreen TVs? Well, this is a FAT screen TV.

  • (also known as a "pot-bellied TV"...)
