i just got back from patong today, amazing. was there for songkran....it was intense, i heard that 50 ppl died during songkran last year from coming off bikes etc. fuckin awesome fun tho

I was there that day too. I had a great time but it was a little bit cold after being soaking wet for like 12 hours..:) It is so annoying that yhe bike week and this is on the same time. But we got to drive our bikes anyway..:)

I was there this year. If your on a motorbike it's very dangerous due to the fact your constantly having people blast you with water. My friends and I had a great time. I however would never take children to Thailand, unless your into exposing them to prostitution.

I was there this year as well, 6 of us on big bikes from Malaysia. It was brutal, had to ride with our feet out and go as slow as possible just in case someone tagged you with a big bucket so you didn't end up on the ground(although one of us did anyhow). I wasn't quite prepared, but the only bad thing that ended up happening to me was my phone got wet...a 3000RM(30K b) HTC Kaiser :( but strangely it worked a few days later lol.

The reason the bar girls are prostitutes is because they will have a child or children of there own and they work to support them, watch the thai girls in the bar as they play games and keep the young farrang children happy and amused. I would never be ashamed of my child meeting the bar girls, they are human just the same as you and me.

i'm sorry but you talk utter crap!! i took my son to thailand aged 10 and he had a fantastic time, doing many things he couldn't do in europe due to shitty EU directives. I was never approached by girls whilst with my son other than to say how cute he was and cuddle him. I'm sure you had a wonderful family holiday but believe me I've seen many a scandalous activities going on in Patong especially in blangla road.True that with kids the girls at the lady bars won't approach you but don't tell me that you want kids around in a road composed of nothing but lady bars and clubs with hundreds of hookers and horney male tourist.
