Jewishwarrior666 (what a proper number for you) no wonder your account was suspended. You spew nothing but venom and hate. Such a bizarre reaction considering the holocaust. The downfall of Tibet to the Maoist regime is really no different, except thankfully millions of lives weren't lost. I feel sorry for you. You have no empathy for those that suffer similar circumstances and judge a man you know nothing about. Cutting noses off, I have done my research and you are simply delusional.
I just don't understand the animosity towards a man that won the Nobel Peace Prize, a man that sacrificed his childhood, albeit without his consent, to serve as the 13th Dalai Lama. He was forced out of his homeland because of his position imposed upon him. He has done the best he can to preserve his heritage, only to be mocked by those that don't even have a clue about the oppression from China. So sad. So many monks died defending this heritage and culture. Jewishwarrior you are the hypocrite.
It saddens me what counts for adult maturity these days! How can so many people be fooled by this wolf in shepherds clothing! The man was a slave owner and ruled over a people who practiced dismemberment and cutting off of noses for heaven sakes! He talks of non violence however has supported every american war!!!! Fuck the dalai lama and his hypocrisy!
@jewishwarrior666 - I like to form my own opinions, references please. (Not about the new stuff - wars about oil and turf, I'm interested in learning about the the origions of religions, so I can make up my own mind. I really have no idea, but if the Dalai Lama is a hypocrite, surely it's because he knows his religion wouldn't survive under Chinese rule, so he is trying to tack it on to the strongest democracy - America 'so long as it isn't Islamic' that he can find.
China needs to recognize the legitimacy of the Tibetan people's
aspiration to protect the integrity of their language, culture and identity. Although Beijing recognizes Tibetan language and culture formally, policies in Tibet still undermine the survival of that identity. Beijing
could allow Tibetan to be the language of primary education as well
as introducing it in the governmental and public services in the Tibetan-speaking areas.
The dalai lama may not have directly coordinated the riot which resulted in 180 deaths however as their leader I find it hard to believe that he didn't know they were planning the riot. Words out of his own mouth " just make it non violent". That's why he got so mad when his fanatics in tibet started killing people and then threatened to quit if they didn't stop....feeling of guilt perhaps. He's also directly supporting the suppression of shugden practicianers. Hypocrite!
@sunam11 Um perhaps you should attend school, it should be "you don't know anything". I'm sure Ann surpasses you in knowledge, intelligence, and most of all open mindedness.
The Denver Post was contacted today, attention Mrs. Susan Green. Ann Curry who likes to touch me at the 2009 DNC convention might like to know about it.
He is good at speaking, bad at doing.Whatever~No politician is really thinking about people.
And ppl just want to follow his words, because they are not in Tibet or China. They are easy to be brainwashed.Even thinking they have mastered every details to setence China's evil.
wake up. i'm not afraid of the slavery question, i just don't think its even ethical to ask without proper sources. it's an excuse used by the Chinese to mask all their lies and bloodshed. free tibet
yeah, well-documented from whom? um, lemme guess...the chinese government. you know? the government that is a dictatorship, a gov't that kills innocent people, a gov't that persecutes simple human rights...i think you know what i'm talking about. if not, then i think you're way too young to even be allowed on youtube.
There are many western/non-Chinese sources of documentations of the old Tibetan theocratic society, under which about 90% of the population are slaves/serfs.
Why are you afraid of people asking the slavery question?
As to the question of human rights, you can first drive to any major inner city ghettos in USA.
haha drive to inner ghettos? i'm from Richmond, CA...the 9th most dangerous city in America. Though it is frightening to go outside, i can still go out and protest, i can still go out and hold a picture of the Dalai Lama, i can still practice my own religion....so don't try to use that "it's the same" shit because clearly, in Tibet if you do those things, you'll either be put in a prison where you're tortured/raped or you're dead on the spot. which one do you prefer?
Have you ever been to Tibet? How are you so sure about those thing in Tibet? Do you know why the theocratic force's uprising in 1959 were so easily crushed? Study some history, try to make enough money to be able to make a trip to China and think independently!
Cuttlefish, on behalf of Ann, in Daramsala, people can worship not only shugden, but every religion. I think if u want to get clear information you must ask the 14th Dalai lama not ANN.Go visit him. Thank you
wtf is wrong with you pple? where the hell did you hear about the CIA?? and slave ownership? DON'T FALL INTO CHINA'S LIES AND PROPAGANDA. DON'T BECOME BRAINWASHED YOU FOOLISH, FOOLISH LITTLE CHILD.
I agree 100% iriceboy. He isn't a toddler, he has been serving his people for 68 years and knows a hell of a lot more than she does. "Are you a terrorist?" Ya people who cares about Osama the Dalai Lama is the one to watch out for! Oh please!
thank you for the respond. I just feel that this is such a wasted opportunity for an insight into one of the greatest religious leader of our times (whether you believe that is your opinion,)during one of the most volatile period.
Ann Curry is interviewing in the manner of trying to get more ratings by provoking the Dalai Lama to say something controversial (my opinion after watching this interview).
I just hope there will be another interview with more insight. thanks for the upload
no, he's not. he doesn't have any reason to. he's been doing this for the past 50+years..with speeches in front of hundreds of thousands every month!!!

I hope someone can get a chance to ask dalai lama how he feels about his slave-ownership before he fled Tibet in 1950s.
ptr012345 3 years ago
i hope next time you go on saying propaganda shit you heard from other people, mainly the Chinese Governement, you do some research.
lala10108 3 years ago
do some research yourself. It's well documented dalai was one of the biggest slave/serf owner in tibet.

no, he's not. he doesn't have any reason to. he's been doing this for the past 50+years..with speeches in front of hundreds of thousands every month!!!

But he was seldom challenged.
He seems upset when he saw the protester banner in Qwest field in Seattle on April 12.
