President Obama's New Fuel Economy & Vehicle Emissions Standards

The new emission standards are capitalistic in nature not environmental . Production of a new "green" vehicle (lets say a prius for example) creates ten times the emissions than a old 60's muscle car (that gets 5mpg running without cats) would produce in a lifetime of use. The goal of the new standards is to encourage sells of new vehicles, wile discouraging the restoration or maintenance of older vehicle's. Hell the lobbying for the new standard was openly funded by the automotive industry.

One of the contributing factors of higher fuel consumption is higher gearing in these moderns cars. Higher RPMS translate into higher fuel consumption and the higher CAFE standards IS NOT INCLUDING the barage of overgrown, overweight, oversized SUV's from the late 1990's to the present.....

so wat about farms? what about construction workers? pipe fitters? long haul truckers without those big ugly trucks nothing you have now would have been built, and none of the stuff u can buy at the store would have been shipped. none of the farms could have grown anything, and none of the live stock could have been taken 2 market and none of your stupid economy cars could have even been shipped to your dealerships.
