Morehouse has been known for a long time for having a lot of gay men....where is the breaking news here? I mean people let's get real...these colleges are loaded with alot of DL dudes and they are sexing each other all over the place. I know 2 dudes who didn't want to go to Morehouse because they were afraid of the reputation it had....and these 2 dudes were very talented and would have brought a lot of money to that school because of their musical genus. This is such a sad thing with Black men.
Whooooo man im glad Im a Morehouse man...I love it everyday. Brother at the end did his thang so well i promise I will work on my speakin and stop bein so ghetto...
Like I said in my earlier post that I going to enroll next fall, but now I dont know. To see a morehouse man put dwn another morehouse man is not right. Espically because of ones sexuality. I am straight african american man and I have no problem with gay people. For heaven sakes yall are all there for the same reason to get educated and help change the world right?? That is the reason?? Or have yall forget becuz of the medias harsh comment
@JOSEPHCOLE53 he's not necessarily putting him down for his sexuality, but because of the fact that some people think that the article wasn't a good look for Morehouse. It's not beneficial to have any negative perceptions of Morehouse because of a magazine article, and I think that guy was angered because that happened and the people featured in the article either graduated or transferred instead of dealing with the repercussions of their actions.
@JOSEPHCOLE53 There are those that go through MH and do it just so they could have the title "Morehouse Man" to their name. Not everyone here embodies the principles of brotherhood which is a principle that is emphasized at Morehouse until the day you graduate.People like that most likely didn't enjoy their experience here at all and are bitter and very close-minded.Please know that the majority here at Morehouse do not feel the same as he does.Don't let his ignorance hinder you choice to attend.
I am proud to say that I am the first openly SGL effeminate man to wear the insignia of a Morehouse Man--something that is very sacred to my dear academia.
As a man of Morehouse 05' @chillipeanuts should help the brothers see the light, and help guide him to Morehouse instead of trying to turn him away. You sound just as ignorant as the guy who was trying to rep his hometown in the video. As a member of the class of 2015 I tell @KidJoXander come to Morehouse, see the beauty that is Morehouse.
Im laughing @chillipeanuts because from his comments you can't even tell he went to Morehouse. You must have been one of those who just went through Morehouse, Here we are taught to be open minded. A self-respecting man is a self-respecting man. Why does it have to be divided between gay and strait men? @KidJoXander while you are at Morehouse you will find those who live up to what a Morehouse is, and those who just come for that Degree. People like that get no attention and should be ignored.
@JOSEPHCOLE53 and @KidJoXander as a new student at Morehouse as a Freshman I say to both you, I am pleased to here you are both planning to come to Morehouse next fall and I welcome you both, I must I say Ive ben here for a month and this is nothing Ive ever experienced. I am a Heterosexual Male and have no problem with gay students at all. Anyone who wastes their time worrying about homosexual students here has a problem.
I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. and being from there when a person hears the word morehouse people usually have nothing but good things to say about Morehouse i am planning to enroll next fall . i have always been impressed of how the morehouse men carry their themselves as young adults
I am a rising Senior in High School. I'll be attending Morehouse as an undergrad. I am also Gay. My fear of attending has dropped. I hope I can become even HALF as educated as these young men in this video. Inspired.
@chillipeanuts The one who is educating himself on an institution where he wants to become somebody. Which 'self-respecting' brother puts down his own race? You, fool. Talk about shame...
@chillipeanuts And you enjoy pointing out what people do with their self. I take it you are trying to assert your dominance over me? Because it's THAT much of a big deal to you, right? Haha, i'm going to be *the bigger man* and leave your petty ass here by yourself because i'm *obviously* talking to someone who really doesn't show respect towards his own race. It's a pity.. Oh well, I guess I learned that there are people in the world like that. It's not what you have, it's what you make of it.
@KidJoXander we didnt fight to be recognized as men for the likes of you to throw your masculinity away. no respectful black man is gay. i'm far from 'ghetto', but the perception of gays amongst the common folk is correct.
If you want to see a group of ANGRY BLACK MEN arguing and debating a topic without anyone drawing a gun, a knife, fist fight, or swearing, then talk a strall on Morehouse campus.
@lapree7 No disrespect, but the question is not 'so now what's Morehouse's argument.' The young man was responding to comments made within the group of students gathered. Administration nor the president of Morehouse had anything to do with the making of the video (I assume). : )
keep MOREHOUSE clean, prestigious, reputable, and dignified. do not poison this fine institution with QUEENS. too many queens go there to hit on brothas and it's wrong. lay this homosexuality issue to rest. men be men, not pansies.
@Mister006 God gave you a voice to use so use it, so do so! Don't be afraid to express your views, thoughts, beliefs, opinions, etc. Its important for both black and white people to have important UNCOMFORTABLE dialogues. I know its gets hard at times. These black men better get it! Let the world know that our black men gay or not are educated and are willing to have debates without violence. Props to the black men of MOREHOUSE!
Unfortunately guys this wasn't a great debate at all. I expected more from you all but it just shows that you should never believe all that you hear. It sounds like a weak argument from both sides. This also shows that Morehouse is a typical college, they produce SOME great people/debaters like any other institution. With all due respect, gentleman, this video says a lot.
These edjumakated retards have no idea of the fact that homosexuality is a European sexual orientation. So, we have black youth justifying and validating the means in which their oppressor is systematically destroying the black race.
@raisismith What?!?! This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. SEXUAL ORIENTATION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH "RACE." Where did you get this from??? And please give it back.
@nevaazitwaz Historically, Africans have never engaged in homosexual behavior. As slaves, there was absolutely no record of homosexual activity on any plantation. It was not until Africans were European-ized that we began mimicing their sexual orientations. Homosexuality is nothing more than an escape from discovering ones own man-hood, it has nothing to do with the desire of having a penis penetrate ones anus. The behavior doesn't lead to procreation, therefore it is by definition abnormal.
@raisismith This is a falseness. Simply because studies haven't been done to tease out homosexuality among slaves doesn't mean that it didn't exist. You probably believe that homosexual men and women don't exist in present day Africa. Your argument has so many holes in it that I neither have the time nor inclination to point them out. Also, where are you getting this information from? Can you sight any credible sources?
@nevaazitwaz My source is Dr. Mwalimu K. Baruti who served as assistant Professor of Sociology at Morehouse College from 1991 to 2001.
His website is: akobenhouse(dot)com
In your spare time, why not check out a few of his lectures and videos so that you can become educated on true black history, then perhaps you won't be so quick to defend these perverted European sexual orientations that are absolutely foreign to original African cultural history prior to European colonialism.
@raisismith This professor is just as homophobic as you seem to be. Please stop with these wild and unfounded generalizations. It is you and this professor who do not seem to know the true meaning of Black history. What this professor is teaching is his OPINION, without facts or supporting documentation. And his opinions and theories fall right into alignment with your homophobic heart. Don't try to hide your homophobia behind Black African Nationalism. Get out of here.
@nevaazitwaz You asked for my source, I provided it. Now, what is your source to justify homosexuality as being historically associated with black culture in Africa or in the United States? Enough with your equivocations, please simply provide your sources!
@MisterIndividualGuy I planned to apologize to you immediately whilst reading the begining of your 'reply' via my channel, but when I read the uneccessary abuse/cuss word you so intellectually (attempted) to call me, I lost ALL interest in your response, opinion, and appeal for further study/research regarding the article and @raisismith's ridiculous reply to you,,,, correction, noted! Thank you. Yet, your appeal to me was made instant garbage due to your choice of foul language! EPIC FAIL! -J
@JwahAmore31 Honestly, I really do not care whether you apologize or not. Anything coming from a mindless double standard idiot like yourself is worthless to me at this point. I just wanted to let you know that my ORIGINAL comment was not aimed towards you. The question was towards a different youtube username, yet a nosy cretin like yourself HAD to get involved...very unnecessary in my opinion. My cuss word that used was COMPLETELY necessary, because you are in fact an asshole.
@JwahAmore31 the reason I referred to you as an asshole, was because it is a profane word used to describe someone who is rude, arrogant, or obnoxious. You most definately fit that description. You seriously need a reality check. Goodbye. Don't bother replying with your pathetic responses you imbecile.
@MisterIndividualGuy WOW!!!! ALL of these intellegent BLACK MEN conversing, and you stop by this page/video w/cursing, ignorant/pathetic homophobia, and the infamous disrespectful-shameful N'word! Seriously? Please sign up for someones (pref. HBCU) University and get/take your PRIDE back!!! Cheers, love! - J
@JwahAmore31 Ok first of all, my response was towards raisismith; not you. raisismith was the one who presented homophobia in a manner he thought was logical(quite stupid and immature in my opinion). If you'd like to question one about their homophobia then you should have replied to raisismith; not me. I can see that you're one of thos double standard assholes who only see one side of a story-in this case-comment-instead of reading the comment of the person whom I was replying to.
@raisismith European sexual orientation? Lol Homosexuality has been in every society throughout the history of the world. There were tribes in Africa that gave classifications to gays. Africa didn't start hating gays until Europeans wrote laws forbidding it during colonization. Google "African myths about homosexuality," by Blessing-Miles Tendi of the Guardian UK online news site.
@GGLebo23 I'm not googling anything, you made the claim that there were so-called African tribes that categorized so-called gays, so name the tribes, the source of your information and the credentials of those responsible for these tall tales.
@raisismith I'm not going to bother. If you don't want to search for yourself it means you rather be ignorant. If that is your wish, then theirs nothin I can do about that.
@GGLebo23 You made the claim, don't make a claim and then expect someone else to research your claim. If you can make a claim then you should be able to provide the details of your sources. If you can't, then in the future, I'd suggest that you discontinue making such claims!
@raisismith If you would have looked up the article you could have seen the tribes and sources where the author got the information from. I am not gonna baby you through information. It is not my job to teach. All I did was provide contradictory evidence to your foolish claims.
@GGLebo23 If you can't explain in detail what the article claims, regarding what tribes recognized gays, where this information was sourced and the credentials of those who claim this information to be true. This tells me that you don't possess a complete understanding of what the article said or you cannot recall what you read well enough to effectively explain it to others. So I strongly suggest that you go back and study, so that in the future you won't have to redirect people to articles.
As a girlfriend of a Morehouse man and a future Spelmanite. A Morehouse man is to be expected to uphold the honors, dignity, and image of a man. There is no wrong for being gay but the fact of putting on a dress and heels is out of the question. A "man" does not dress the part of a "woman." Morehouse should uphold the standards of a man. Dress like a MAN, speak as a intellectual MAN, and act the part of a MAN.
@the1andonlyLOVEable = oh be quiet. you sound ridiculous and simple minded. the world is much more complex than how you choose to view it. wake up sister. but like @Karewmoz, i have no time for ignorance. peace.
My favorite part of this clip was not the intellectual discussion, but the idiot who felt as though he had to rep his city during the middle of this discussion...classic...thank you imperfect timing...lol...gotta love the AUC...specifically Spelman and Morehouse though ;)
If you wanta learn how to be a woman go to a woman's college! Morehouse is about turning black males into strong black MEN. Why can't anyone get this? You can't dress like a woman and want to be a woman and be a strong man at the same time, thats impossible.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is truly . . . truly the last days we are living in. Did I just witnessed a heterosexual male say let the gay guys dress however they want if at the end of the day it makes them feel comfortable? This had been a boiling issue threatening to explode since I attended college in the AUC back in the early '90s. This is not God and its not natural. Sorry for those who disapprove.
The Gay community & media chooses to use Morehouse as a platform for it's various agendas. Why don't they write articles and focus this negative attention to the many gays at CAU, FAMU, Hampton, Howard, and all the other HBCU's ? All of this attention given to these 4-5 questionable FORMER students, gives the impression that gays are ONLY at Morehouse. I doubt that you'd see these 'drag gueens' strutting on the campuses of other HBCU's, so why should Morehouse be any different ?
@seand67 Blacks are on gays agenda. The "Homophobic" black community lead by the "homophobic" black church has been on their radar every since proposition 8.
I worked at Morehouse for 5 months as a contractor. I am very impressed about the brotherhood among the students. What I didn't see were men walking around the campus during the day in women's clothing. A gay man knows where and when to dress in women clothing. If straight brothers do not understand then they need to have an one on one talk with another gay man. As far as dressing, I can't wait until belts and pants on back on men's hips not knees - that is the problem!
These fruit booty dudes want you to recognize that you're a man who sleeps with men before we get to this biology lesson.
NOBODY else is bringing their bed into the classroom. Nobody else is demanding recognition of their sexual orientation as a preface to learning the lesson in class. They show up, they don't distract others, they get to work, they get the work done - and whatever you want to do after class is over IS YOUR BUSINESS.
Leave that isht at home. If you can't, don't come to campus.
If there's any ignorance here, it's in not recognizing the difference between duty and discrimination.
There's a time for duty, and that's where the focus should be. Ask any gay member of the US Military if dressing in female uniform is more important than preparing up for the upcoming combat? You're at a male school, dress like a man, learn how to learn - educate yourself, and then go do whatever you want to do in your own social circle on your off time. Priorities, focus on them.
@Mister006 It's not important at all. But whose making a big deal out of it? They aren't. It's people like you. They came prepared for class, and that wasn't good enough because they had a blouse instead of a button-down. SO WHAT!!!
@Mister006 College is not the US Military. The duties and responsibilities are vastly different. You're trying to compare apples and grapefruits. It's immoral to tell a man that he can't dress, live, be the person he feels he is in his heart and spirit. It's simply immoral.
Maybe the problem is that as long as you and Black folk throughout the USA continue to believe that education is not as important or not as valued of a duty as is service in the military, or not one of your responsibilities of citizenship in the USA, then Black folk will continue to fall short of leadership in this country and President Obama will be the only Black President ever. It's only "apples and grapefruits" as long as you want to continue to remain in ignorance.
LIFE IS WAR. You may not preparing YOUR BODY for battle, but YOU ARE preparing YOUR MIND.
You have these experienced, knowledgeable men and women professors (hopefully) doing everything they can to prepare your young mind for battle against the forces of life against you. If you can't respect the effort they are making to prepare you, by becoming a distraction, then you should leave because YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK, and you demand to remain so. You only guarantee your demise.
@Mister006 This is mainly an ignorant, homophobic, idiotic response. Perhaps if men such as yourself relieved themselves of their homophobic discourse and ideologies, black gay men might be able to leave that part of who they are at home and focus on the "biology lesson." All students have a right to be educated at an institution that accepts and nurtures all of who they are.
Men of Morehouse... There is NOTHING like this mass of Black men being educated and educating themselves. Positive solutions to this issue can be built out of this institution built by men for men. I wish my university experience was filled with this sort of Black Man discourse instead of being the lone Black man in a room full of ignorant and racist whites.
@Mister006 Word, brotha! My classes I am the only Marxist in the room surrounded by a bunch of racist Libertarians and Republicans. I really wish I chose Morehouse for undergraduate school lol. Maybe my future son can go there for me!
i mean point blank, there are alot of gay men at Morehouse, but they are everywhere. but with Morehouse, YOU ARE A MAN. the school shouldn't have to make a rule to prevent the students from dressing like women.
Morehouse has been known for a long time for having a lot of gay men....where is the breaking news here? I mean people let's get real...these colleges are loaded with alot of DL dudes and they are sexing each other all over the place. Thank you. Yet, your appeal to me was made instant garbage due to your choice of foul language! EPIC FAIL! -J
JwahAmore31 11 months ago
@JwahAmore31 Honestly, I really do not care whether you apologize or not. Anything coming from a mindless double standard idiot like yourself is worthless to me at this point. I just wanted to let you know that my ORIGINAL comment was not aimed towards you. The question was towards a different youtube username, yet a nosy cretin like yourself HAD to get involved...very unnecessary in my opinion. My cuss word that used was COMPLETELY necessary, because you are in fact an asshole.
MisterIndividualGuy 11 months ago
@JwahAmore31 the reason I referred to you as an asshole, was because it is a profane word used to describe someone who is rude, arrogant, or obnoxious. You most definately fit that description. You seriously need a reality check. Goodbye. Don't bother replying with your pathetic responses you imbecile.
MisterIndividualGuy 11 months ago
@MisterIndividualGuy WOW!!!! ALL of these intellegent BLACK MEN conversing, and you stop by this page/video w/cursing, ignorant/pathetic homophobia, and the infamous disrespectful-shameful N'word! Seriously? Please sign up for someones (pref. HBCU) University and get/take your PRIDE back!!! Cheers, love! - J
JwahAmore31 11 months ago

GGLebo23 1 year ago
@GGLebo23 I'm not googling anything, you made the claim that there were so-called African tribes that categorized so-called gays, so name the tribes, the source of your information and the credentials of those responsible for these tall tales.
raisismith 1 year ago
@raisismith I'm not going to bother. If you don't want to search for yourself it means you rather be ignorant. If that is your wish, then theirs nothin I can do about that.
GGLebo23 1 year ago
@GGLebo23 You made the claim, don't make a claim and then expect someone else to research your claim. If you can make a claim then you should be able to provide the details of your sources. If you can't, then in the future, I'd suggest that you discontinue making such claims!
raisismith 1 year ago
@raisismith If you would have looked up the article you could have seen the tribes and sources where the author got the information from. I am not gonna baby you through information. It is not my job to teach. All I did was provide contradictory evidence to your foolish claims.
GGLebo23 1 year ago

@the1andonlyLOVEable = oh be quiet. you sound ridiculous and simple minded. the world is much more complex than how you choose to view it. wake up sister. but like @Karewmoz, i have no time for ignorance. peace.

I agree, friends. Let us separate these homosexuals from us, as they do not belong with normal people.
Thumbs up if you're an ignorant dicksqueeze who agrees with that.

If you wanta learn how to be a woman go to a woman's college! Morehouse is about turning black males into strong black MEN. Why can't anyone get this? You can't dress like a woman and want to be a woman and be a strong man at the same time, thats impossible.

@GoReaLahTV I question whether you witnessed a heterosexual male too. That is the true weapon of homosexuals; stealth.

I doubt that you'd see these 'drag gueens' strutting on the campuses of other HBCU's, so why should Morehouse be any different ?
seand67 1 year ago
@seand67 Blacks are on gays agenda. The "Homophobic" black community lead by the "homophobic" black church has been on their radar every since proposition 8.

I worked at Morehouse for 5 months as a contractor. I am very impressed about the brotherhood among the students. What I didn't see were men walking around the campus during the day in women's clothing. A gay man knows where and when to dress in women clothing. If straight brothers do not understand then they need to have an one on one talk with another gay man. As far as dressing, I can't wait until belts and pants on back on men's hips not knees - that is the problem!

Thanks for posting this video. It does my heart good knowing that my Morehouse Brothers are handling this situation in their own special way.

@Mister006 Ignorance at best. It's a motherfucking shame. I would break it down, but I don't have the energy to.
Karewmoz 1 year ago
@Karewmoz
Mister006 1 year ago
@Mister006 It's not important at all. But whose making a big deal out of it? They aren't. It's people like you. They came prepared for class, and that wasn't good enough because they had a blouse instead of a button-down. SO WHAT!!!
Karewmoz 1 year ago
@Mister006 College is not the US Military. The duties and responsibilities are vastly different. You're trying to compare apples and grapefruits. It's immoral to tell a man that he can't dress, live, be the person he feels he is in his heart and spirit. It's simply immoral.
nevaazitwaz 1 year ago
@nevaazitwaz
Mister006 1 year ago
@nevaazitwaz
Mister006 9 months ago
@Mister006 This is mainly an ignorant, homophobic, idiotic response. Perhaps if men such as yourself relieved themselves of their homophobic discourse and ideologies, black gay men might be able to leave that part of who they are at home and focus on the "biology lesson." All students have a right to be educated at an institution that accepts and nurtures all of who they are.
nevaazitwaz 1 year ago
Men of Morehouse... There is NOTHING like this mass of Black men being educated and educating themselves. Positive solutions to this issue can be built out of this institution built by men for men. I wish my university experience was filled with this sort of Black Man discourse instead of being the lone Black man in a room full of ignorant and racist whites.
Mister006 1 year ago 25
@Mister006 Word, brotha! My classes I am the only Marxist in the room surrounded by a bunch of racist Libertarians and Republicans. I really wish I chose Morehouse for undergraduate school lol. Maybe my future son can go there for me!
Tougemaster06 10 months ago
i mean point blank, there are alot of gay men at Morehouse, but they are everywhere. but with Morehouse, YOU ARE A MAN. the school shouldn't have to make a rule to prevent the students from dressing like women.
