Little kids only know Al Pacino from Scarface or The Godfather, what they dont know are his lesser known films like Carlitos Way or Heat, much better performance
@jeanniemotherof3 yea thats what i said better perfomance, not film. heat is dam good but in my personal opinion i enjoy scarface much more. just love how it follows one man from nothing , to everything, then the downfall. dont get me wrong heat is incredible lol
@improvisedcinema1 Absolutely superb, Scent Of A Woman. Dog Day Afternoon is another seemingly over-looked one. I'd take either of those performances over Scarface anyday. In fact, I'd take Carlito's Way over Scarface. And, come to think of it, I'd take Heat over Scarface too. Not because I think there's anything special about his performance in Heat. It's just, well, Robert DeNiro's in heat.... and Batman....
@improvisedcinema1 I've never seen that one, just watched a clip. Looks like a sad one. Gotta love DeNiro. Pacino is great but DeNiro's top to me. Saying that, they both seem to have moved on from acting to merely starring, if you know what I mean. Never seems to be any real class in much of what they do now. It's a shame.
He first "The Tree of Wooden Clogs" which won the Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1978....(Nobody here seems to have heard him say this) The film is on Youtube...the wonders of trolling!
the tree of wooden clogs is actually here on youtube. from flipping through it it's a painfully dreary 3 hour thing of quite low production quality. Gigli is a blessing compared to it.
@DanFrederiksen No, I dont think it was sarcasm on the part of Mr Pacino but you are probably right , your choice of best movie of all time show's your superior intellect when it come's to movie (sarcasm , just in case you didn't get it ) Let me guesse you are less than 20 right ?
I like Panic in The Needle Park, Godfather part 2, Scarface and Devil's Advocate, he was best in those ! Expecialy in Scarface, I fucking love that film.
my favorite movie from him is for all time the godfather part II - in this role he has give all what he have and with this movie he created one of the most important movies of all time!
@ekalb59bl i think my english is not so bad that nobody can understand what i mean :D but youre right english is not my native language but romanian and german ;)
