@C2amm You know, it's a different dialect of French. Quebec French has different pronunciation, vocabulary, and language construction from the main French in France. For ex: French Canadians ONLY use Vous for plural and Tu every other time. I have a good friend who's from Montreal and when she went to France they all looked at her funny because of her vocab. and accent. Its the same between Americans and British. We have different dialects of English. That is what I meant by my comment...
@rocknpunkchix1294 Yes, I agree with you, there's some differences but french people and french canadian understand each others. It's like British and Americans, as you said. You're french ? Because I am.
@C2amm ...So, yes you can learn French Canadian that is why my friend agreed to teach me it because it is different from your standard French and since I plan on visiting Quebec it would come in handy to really know and understand THEIR dialect of French.
@rocknpunkchix1294 Is there so many differences ? Well, if it was me, I'd go to Quebec with my standard french. For instance, I understand very well the french canadian singers like Celine Dion, Natasha St Pierre or Garou, who have come in France. But, I never went to Quebec, so you're surely right.
@C2amm There's not that many differences like you said but there is enough difference that my friend only stayed in France for about week because she was tired of how they looked at her and were trying to correct her. Maybe she was in a bad section of your country. And I'm not French, I'm American and I've been to Canada many times. I learned French about 5 years ago but I forgot most of it and the way SP was speaking it confused me. I thought it would be fun to know both ways of speaking it. :)
@rocknpunkchix1294 I don't know what to say. Actually, I'm a little embarrassed by the behave of these french. Maybe they looked at her strangely because of her accent and her way to talk, and so they didn't understand her very well at first time. Their intention to correct her was not necessarily bad.
But, I think the differences there are between french and french canadian are expressions, like "tomber en amour" (literal translation of to fall in love) whereas it's "tomber amoureux" in french.
@C2amm Also I'm very sorry if my last comments have seemed rude I've had a horrible week and I get easily upset now. Just one bad thing after another has happened. In my head your very first comment was rude. I didn't know if you were trying to be but it sounded it. So once again I'm sorry.
@rocknpunkchix1294 I didn't want to be rude, I'm so sorry for it. One of my friends often thinks that I'm rude in my messages, whereas I'm only joking : /
You know, there are ups and downs sometimes, it's not your fault. Try to be positive and to look on the bright side, even if it's difficult.
haha Pierre has the cutest laugh ever. I couldn't hold these butterflies in my tummy everytime he laughed. Too funny. I couldn't stop staring at Pierre's face. He didn't stop smiling at all. So hot <3
I have never met ANY french speaking people who can talk that clearly and slowly! Haha! Even if you ask them to PLEASE speak slowly, coz your french is not that good.... they never do! (At least thats for the people in France... sorry, but that's a fact!) So I HOPE when I will go to eastern Canada in a year or so, the french canadians are all able to speak that way! (OK, I know normally I wouldn't understand you either...)
lol. David- "always up for a teaching session.." Pierre- "french kiss.." (: i still love Simple Plan. daid's my favorite though. lik i love tem all, just david a little more than the rest. :P
I've seen them give an interview in French, and I tell you, they're perfect... purely Canadian accent, but native speakers. This one is not representative as they speak slowly so people get it (as told in the beginning).
Onh !!!! J'vous adores les gars !!! Vous me faites trop rire !!! Revenez plus souvent au Québec... Vous me manquez !!! WOWOWIWA !! J'adore le Délire de la fin !!!Haha It's So Funny !!!!! Love you !!!
Such a weird accent. I guess because I'm used to listening to the France-French people speak in French class.
