Just to say, drugs don't fucking make music. Only sensibility and creativity and talent do. Drugs give experiences that may be inspiring for making art like ANY other experience (sex, depression, or just walking down the streeet at night...) can be. A lot of artist do drugs cause they feel they need it, like lots of people do without being creative at all. I really doubt Salem could make any good sound if they were on crack or any shit, they would be juste lying there of dying for a fix.
@akitsaws666 and what ? Did I say they were perfectly clean ? No. I said : drugs don't make music - only people who got feeling and talent make music. Drug effects can be a source of inspiration, or change the music experience, but if they do good music it's because they are good musicians, not because they are stoned. Every musicians don't take drugs, every people who do drugs don't make music.
@7375U0 You are quoted "I really doubt Salem could make any good sound if they were on crack or any shit, they would be juste lying there of dying for a fix." Seriously, look up a live show.
@akitsaws666 yeay yeah I've seen a few of their live shows and yes, they are stoned. I Know. Okay. Yet, does it help them to play good ? No. They even look ridiculous sometimes. like they can't sing or play correctly, with talent and feeling, simply because they are stoned. BTW, John Holland said in an interview that Salem had nothing to do with his drug addict past life, and with drugs in general... either heroin nor crack made Salem's music, only Salem made it.
see, the thing i like about SALEM, is that they have the titles, such as "glass", and then the music tends to reflect that word, to a point. for instance, this track sounds to me like shattered sound, the voice breaking into pieces. i picture this playing across water, the sound rippling the surface, again breaking the reflection.
you know nothing, fork off and go and fork yourself you forking fork. FORK YOU!

Is it me or does EVERY one of their songs pass by really quickly? Must be true about what they say - time does fly when you're having fun.
