Would you happen to remember the horse "old paint" from the early 70s? My mother had a ceramic mold of this horse in our home and I just loved the detail on this old broken down horse.
@IamMohawk Don't remember that horse.. but I do remember a movie Audy Murphy was in called Tumbleweed. In that movie a Cayus Horse called Tubleweed saves Audy's life.. That's the type of horse from the early 1800s you would've seen in the old west... not the modern horses you see in movies today.
Love the classical feel of this piece. It is more universal than Western art and just the horse and rider without pinning it to a period would have a timeless Graeco-Roman quality with a very wide appeal. Really amazing for a "feeble old" sculptor to create this so fast. Wow!!
Being holed up in the snow and wind, I think I'd feel about 100 yrs. old! lol, Seriously, awesome stuff! I always learn something new from your work and narratives. Thoughts to ponder that can carry over to my own style! Much appreciated, as always!
when you were moving around the arm and "spear" I was thinking of the horse walking through shallow water and the indian has a fish on the end of his spear, and wearing a loin cloth.. isn't it funny how you moving your sculptures invokes all of these images in my head! Amazing sculpture, wax is hard to work with

That was so interesting!
I really liked the way you calculated the size of the rider's head in ratio with that of the horse! =)
Keep up the good work!
