  • Does o-lifting have detrimental effects on the body later in life?

  • who the F! is lifting right now, you couldn't wait 4 damn minutes you F*cks haha

  • What the fuck are they talking about in a sport conference, more important than this?

  • GREAT VIDEO !!!

  • This is just annoying, the people talking in the background, the buzzer, everything. why wouldn't these turds listen to what he had to say? all of it is extremely relevant and informative. this is a total lack of respect, they could learn more about lifting in these 20 mintues than they have heard their whole life.

  • ale suczka :D

  • Unbelievable that lifters in the background don't want to listen to such detailed instruction by such a knowledgeable person. As a non-lifter evrything he says makes sense but as is the western way people seem to value quanitity over quality.

  • The people making noise in the background should be punched.

  • @search4progress i hear you man, annoyed the shit outta me

  • what's with the bald dude picking his head??

  • i think its realyyy rude to give a legend like a tommy kono a time limit. why cant they just let him talk. they dare BUZZ him as well. thts just dumb! we'll gladly have kono in my country. with NO time limits.

  • @reshveen10 Totally agree. That countdown with the timer is cheesy, disrespectful, and low-class. And that f'n buzzer sounding off when the time is up is simply rude and just low, low class. It's embarrassing. Tommy Kono is a LEGEND. That guy spent time in an internment camp during WWII. He is an Olympic Gold medalist AND Mr. World and Mr. Universe. The clowns who organized this event should show some FREAKING RESPECT!!!

  • @bsumiko Uhm, on almost every level, this is completely normal. On every great talk and event the times of the speakers are limited, regardless how senior and masterful they are. If you want more info, most of them are always willing to share later on, which is at EVERY event where the true gems are...

  • @reshveen10 I agree with your comment. Mr. Kono is a legend. American weightlifters should be honored of his presence and they should appreciate the fact that he is still around.

  • 4:41

    look at his heels. Bad.

  • great videos i have learnt alot in 20 minutes

  • yes! The Master! His book is excellent too! I've bought it!

  • Thanks for putting this up . Very informative. Is he saying americans are focusing to much on weight and not enough on form.Very true about what he says about overtraining . I my wasted bodybuilding days I had way to much volume . Now that I have scalled back I am alot stronger and powerful.

  • @steeletosser Mike Mentzer also knew this all to well!

  • Why is it that you are trashing Kono, rednatsyb? What is it you got against him? Why is it so wrong that he is trying to re-introduce the method that was successfully used by him and many other Olympic weightlifters during its heyday? I see value in the Soviet training methods but still think that Western methods have merit.

  • Cool, I have a better idea how to do these lifting now.

  • lol good ending BIIIIIING!!!!

  • Nice video!

  • thanks for video

  • rednatsyb, it is really humrous that you would be so rude to a man like Tommy Kono. He defined American Weightlifting in the early days and did so for a long time. For you to say that stuff about a man of his stature is just crap. I havent checked lately but are you in contention for a spot on the Olympic team?

I personally got a lot out of this video series. The instruction is clear, concise and very valuable.

  • kudos

  • So, where is the instruction on the CLEAN & JERK?

  • if u can snatch u can clean & jerk. BUT if u can clean & jerk it doesn't nesesarily mean u can snatch.

  • so very true

  • Great video

  • please explain.

  • You really have no idea what you're talking about...

  • nice voting my comment down ;) very mature... why don't you post your lifting/coaching videos for all to comment on?

  • @bd1saul

I have no personal opinion, however; many people know believe that the second pull should not be perfectly straight. This might be what rednatsb is getting at, albeit in a belligerant manner.

If you watch many chinese lifters, the second pull is a curved motion because (again not an expert) the body can create more torque with the hips that legs.

  • Do you even know who Tommy Kono is? That's like saying MJ is giving shitty advice on basketball technique (not that it isn't possible, but unlikely)

  • lol, Hilarious!

  • Thanks!

  • Exceptional instructional video. Thank you.

  • Great!

  • Great!Its very useful

  • BUFF!

  • thanks for uploading theis. Very useful.

  • This should come in handy for those who want to perform Olympic Snatch. Thank you for uploading this.
