The problem is that many people have been brainwashed with that idea that Democracy is the representation of the people. It is just another form of dictatorship.

Democracy if you little bits of knowledge was design for a few thousands people maximum. Democracy on a large scale doesn't make any sense. You cannot say that 150 000 001 people can represent 149 999 999 other people.

Hitler in Germany was more popular than Sarkozy in France.

Democracy on a large scale is easily corrupt and it ends just like a dictatorship except that people do not realize it. America was not designed to be a Democracy.

Finally, most people elect puppets that looks cool (Obama is the perfect example) and these people just do what special interest tells them to do.

Once people figure out they can vote people in that will give them things, democracy does suck. When people with their hand out constitutes a majority, then they can use their willing accomplices in the government to steal from those of us who produce revenue. Democracy only survives if the majority of people adhere to certain principles such as self reliances, honesty and integrity. Once the majority of people are immoral they will suck the life out of anyone they can. What is your alternative?

The founding fathers understood that pure democracy was a doomed system. That's why we're a representative republic. People with experience and wisdom were given the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the state. However experience has been superseded by popularity and a willingness to give away other people's money has taken the place of wisdom. Do we work to change the tide or just sit around and bitch? Or would your rather move to Cuba? I hear everyone gets a rice cooker from the gov.

Our country was founded on the principles of limited government where the power of government was specifically defined/limited, but it's been inverted to imply the rights of individuals were "given" to them in the Bill of Rights. If people understood the basis of our country I believe we would all be labeled "conservative" and take responsibility for our own actions instead of feeling like we were owed something by everyone else. The entitlement mentality of the left is destroying America.

My alternative would be the American Constitution with restrictiveness on the executive branch. I think I would take a lot of idea from the New Hampshire Constitution. Let's say the Federal goverment is only caring about National defense and the president can use military force for no more than 10 days without approval of the congress. Any politicians who would infringed the rule of law would go in jail with the lost of the American citizenship with no coming back.

And lastly but not least, a strict interpretation of the 2nd amendment. if it was up to me, it would be the 1st amendment.

Now if local goverment want to adopt democracy or sorts of socialism. I'm not against it. But no big federal goverment, no global goverment. No UN, WTO, NAFTA etc. That what I want.

Anyway, McCain or Obama president, this is just on other kick in the face of America. America will not recover a democrat or republican presidency. A crash will mean a revolution.

OK...so for the most part we agree.

But, you imply we only need restrictions on the executive branch as though the President is the source of all our taxes and problems.

In fact we must turn this ship around and move back toward limited government on all levels. Congress reaches further into our pockets and our lives every year. The best thing for the country in a Congressional recess. We must also eliminate judicial activism where judges make up laws in direct violation of the constitution.
