How Ford can compare with Japan, German, EU, Korean, China.., Cars Producer? Ford need to build more natural gas, hybrids electric cars for America!!??
i dont think the solution is to have more electric cars. they're out now and no one really buys them. why? because they're too fucking expensive. the solution is to find a new fuel that can run on current engines that produces little to no emissions. that way instead of a couple hundred thousand people buying some hybrids and electrics, you have a couple hundred million running on a low emission fuel using their current car.
how about if everyone decided to stop being single minded, and if majority demanded, they knew they'd buy if a 20,000$ electric car that can carry four, you'd buy it in a snap.
I would buy a 15,000 toyota echo sized electric car. If they offered that car in that option, potentially the mechanisms in a fully electric vehicle has less material needs then a combustion, weight costs money. . . As to follow same price - pay for gas or not pay for gas all the same - so what you get is a stereotype. The technology has been around for decades, and this is the push that declares victory.
to tell you the truth, i wouldn't buy an electric car at all. im just going to go invent a car that runs on salt water and emissions are water. i just couldn't live with a car thats quieter than a bicycle when it passes you.
Electric cars are expensive for two main reasons: technology and low volume manufacturing
Petrol cars were much more expensive than electric cars are now as a proportion of the average person's income when they first came out. The only way to bring the price down is to start developing them and start selling them. Electricity as a fuel is considerably cheaper than petrol and it makes sense that this is the future of the car.
The high voltage electricity can be transported efficiently and its much more efficient to produce in a large powerplant even burning diesel.. as there are more ecomomising devices to make the process more effiicient.
everything causes pollution. anything you do or have ever done has caused pollution. but i don't care, i love sandwhiches and thats what im going to eat.
What is necessary is to reduce pollution as much as we can.. and to build up forests.. not only to preserve wildlife but also to sustain a healthy atmosphere.. and also to provide a sustainable livelihood to people who depend on it..
The vegetarian movement is crap.. lion eat meat... why not we!!?? after all we grow what we need.. Its greed and luxury that is causing the problem... not the need...
Oh! thank the lord, our car companies have ironically saved us from the oil cartels just in the last hour. Oh glory be to them. We mushrooms,The truth is they've had this tech. for a very very long time as well as other tech they hide, none the less we will soon be out from under the arab hatchet. When that happens and they cant sell us all their oil, which is all they have to sell except nuclear tech, then watch out that is what they will sell. sand doesn't pay and olives only go so far.
ford has not taken any gov help you would do best to help your brothers at ford to buy over Honda or toyota this keeps jobs in our country we need new tech like this I will support ford as the last remaining true american car company general motors has become a gov controlled compm FORD has it's own life and it started alll cars we have to see that ford will make it new again 100 years of gas or petro ford willl b the one to change
i like how ford pretends they are doing something. and then at the end, "i'm sure ford will not put these into anyone's hands until the people are willing and ready to drive them"
it's like a slap in the face. you're too stupid to have this car, you're not ready yet.
i think its the range of the batteries and the afford ability thats causing the problem. if they have found an affordable technology to meet the requirements of the public i feel they would have done it early... they could make an electric vehicle in the existing platforms ..
@paulkurianth778 well i read a report that says they already have the technology and have had the technology for decades. Understand the electric cars were here FIRST. The gasoline engine was the one that sucked at first. it didn't have the range nor the power. But electric was bought out, put up and they worked on gas for 80 years. They had already come out with real electric super cars way back then, but it would have killed gas altogether. (contd)
The problem is now, so as not to get the big boys [oil] after them, they are only introducing these small cars with big limitations on them. Also EVERY Ecar has a governor on it. The governor limits the range and speed. Most states have written this into law, that they don't want electric cars to go above certain speeds. They have written it as "because it's electric it's unsafe" right into the laws. pisses me off.
how about an ev mustang or an ev crew-cab ranger? i noticed big auto separates ev from macho. must be to steer ppl toward gas-guzzlers. hopefully that'l change. just because it's ev doesn't mean it has to be nerdy. i don't mind the focus test mule that much tho
lol, yeah there's absolutely nothing new about this technology. It's good to see the big 3 producing these cars though. Hopefully they won't kill them off again.
People are more than Willing - they are Demanding. Congress and our new President are right to insist on change. Obama and Pelosi have informed Car Manufacturers to get with it - and threaten a Cap on Executive Compensation in the industry. FINALLY!
Now let's get beyond the Prototype and offer actual Sales, not just Short Lerm Leases. (Reference: Who Killed the Electric Car)

Something like this surely would burn comanies.

In 10years time, hopefully, all we'll be able to buy is Hybrids or Electric.
It'll be like a snowball, once it gets moving it'll gain lots of momentum and all the companies will get on board...hopefully!
