what's the record for youngest to ride this with the loop? My son was 4yrs 4mths when he first got on this, He's almost 13 now. Big kid. Anyone know who keeps track of this stuff?
its a wooden roller coaster they are all rickety thats why people like them if you dont want a rough ride stay off of wooden coasters. people that complain about them end up ruining them for the real fans of wooden coasters. i really hope that they dont do to this coaster what six flags did to the texas giant.

@Coasterdude02149 Add a prefabricated wood track (like the el toro), reinstall the loop use lighter trains, add some 90 degree turns, and a steeper drop and a cable lift. Problem solved. the prefabricated wood will make the ride faster, smoother and it will be more cost effective! :)

@thebeast6671. They will. Wooden roller coasters are only supposed to go so fast. The Beast, for example, reaches a top speed of 63 miles an hour and it is still one of the roughest woodies in the world. The SON of Beast, however, goes a whopping 80 miles an hour. Wood moves as it is put under strain, and there is a limit to its tensile strength when put under that much pressure from the cars. Son of Beast was a mistake. KI SAID it was a mistake. And its designer called it a mistake. SOB sucks.

I would have to think that they are going to totally re-profile the ride into something totally new. It has been done before with many rides that didn't quite work out. The only reason this one lasted as long as it did was because of it's record setting stats. I rode the front seat and thought the ride was great. Went back another time and rode rear and couldn't hardly walk off the train. They'll do some thing with it, but "Son of Beast" is gone forever.

The ride first accident was due to the loop. The beam that ws used in the loop had sagged causing the steel frame to jolt the coaster when it hit it at the top of the loop. That accident was what injured 30 something people. The issue that closed it down was a issue of a lady sueing kings island due to popping a blood vessel in her head due to the roughness of the ride.

@sparky30368 its loud because if the chain should break, the clicking noise is roll back bar.. it will stop the train from rolling back if that should happen. the bar moves into the grove which is the clicking you commonly here on trains.

This ride was SO good when it came out. It's gotten so rough, and since there's no loop there really isn't much attraction. It hurts your whole body.

Why is the lift hill chain so loud, Kings Island should re-profile the track to make it more exciting, why did they not add a Bunny Hop or Camelbck where the loop was..?

@sparky30368 its loud because if the chain should break, the clicking noise is roll back bar.. it will stop the train from rolling back if that should happen. the bar moves into the grove which is the clicking you commonly here on trains.
