The 69 eyes used to have a really PUNK sound, but its funny how they just suddenly started to sound gothic and deep, just like TYPE O NEGATIVE...

The singer and the band are copycats, plain and simple...I think its a bit pathetic to copy an entire band and their sound...its common practice these days, sadly.
