nice vid just ordered the lpk and lpd how did you make your synths please let me know do you need a program. also if you know any place that explains it can you send me a link cheers.
@louis190691 Hi, I used Reason 4 software for those synths. You can find a lot of good tutorial videos in youtube of making synths and basses, just search something like "synth tutorial"
Nice demo. I picked up the LPK25 & LPD8after much research but, your demo is what convinced me in the end, thanks :-). I"m having serious (latency) delay between striking the keys/pads and hearing it. How did you deal with that? I know you're not tech support but any help is appreciated. Thanks again.
@airjones Thanks. I didn't guess this video could get even this popular :) If I knew, I would've put more effort in it :D But hey, have you installed "ASIO4ALL" drivers? you need those to get away from that latency problem.
@chevoton yep, you can map filters, pitch/bend, modulations and stuff on those LPD knobs. LPK doesn't have pitch/bend wheel in it, that's a small minus.
@gcboyallday I might be wrong, but if you can play those fpc pads with your keyboard, and fruity recognizes your LPD, then it might be that your LPD has wrong octave notes programmed in it. Try changing your scale to chrom in LPD8 Editor. Hope it helps, and I hope you understood my explanation :)
Hi there can someone help me...I'm using Reason 3 with the LPD8. In Preferences -> Does the LPD8 appear as an installed AkAI device? I had to manually set mine up as an 'other' device. I cant get the AKAI to trigger any sounds in reason. The Editor is set as: PAD1: Note=C1, CC=0 PC=0. Any help would be great, thanks.
i was just considers buying an axiom 49 key but looking at this ive pretty much completely changed my mind this seems to have as many if not more features and its about 200 dollars cheaper
I bought one Thursday, last week. LOVE it. works great in traktor, reason, vdj. haven't tried ableton but my friend was having problems. Might just be him tho because I've heard it works nicely in ableton.
best product demonstration yet..i ordered mine already..hopefully be here soon...i got a question..i got really big hands..will playing the lpk25 be comfortable for me? long fingers..not too fat but still really but hands..thanks
for me playing lpk is easy, tho I have pretty small hands. looks like you've asked this 2weeks ago, so if you already have your lpk, why don't you share your opinion of it :) could be helpful for some people who also have bigger hands.
@xavke91 sry for late reply. I would say these are good for any electronic genre. its really easy to map filters and modulations in LPD8's knobs, and LPK is freaking awesome to play with.
I assume you have Fruity Loops. Try following: Go to Options -> MIDI settings. In Input section there should be your LPK25, select it and make sure its Enabled as a Generic controller. If that doesn't work I'm not sure whats wrong :/

ShortyShorty11 1 year ago
@ShortyShorty11 Akai LPD8, and I paid about 50€ from it.

very nice demo, looks like you can use the turn knob from LPD8 to do some pitch bend and modulation on the LPK25 note. can you?
it's the only way you can get pitch bend note out of the LPK25?
thanks

How did you set up the LPD8 with Reason 4?
KJF8888 2 years ago
Is it not supposed to work with Reason 4?
From what I've read it should be able to. If it doesn't then I'm pretty sure there's no way I want the LPD8 anymore.

@CHIHUAHUAconda sure it works on Reason 4 :) like I said before, this thing is pretty much plug&play, not plug&prey :)

I would definitely recommend it, really solid piece, feels sturdy. and that software is Reason 4 at the background.
