Its so beautiful, where did you go? Looks like southern Japan to me, I plan on moving to Kyoto when I get older. Anyway, that was a replica right? Also Sensei, do you take any Martial Arts, Like Ninjutsu? Beautiful pictures, and nice blow gun^^. Naisu!^^
Thats cool, I take Ninjutsu, as well as Judo. I also took an interest in Shuriken-jutsu last year. Thanks to you, I've become better to^^. I hope to see the Building that you speak of when I go to Kyoto.^^
I'm glad I'm one of those who knows the potential of shuriken jutsu better then most people. A shuriken killing someone that's very unlikely. Let's say we consider chances being 0.1 on 100 % to kill somebody. Even so that shouldn't be underestimated. Mathematically seens it's not 100 % sure that a shuriken is not effective. Swords, spears, ect have way higher chances to kill.
Yet this doesn't mean shuriken never killed anybody, a lot of history has been lost. Not finding historical evidence (or very few) doesnt mean it didn't happen. But chances that it did are very low indeed. A shuriken would have to be poisined to kill of hit the troat, which would be very difficult during a battle.
If the blowgun doesn't have poison it won't kill or barely hurt at all.
Shuriken were effective, and they definately can kill, nd you should specify the shuriken your speaking of, Bo-Shuriken can definately kill someone, as well as what I believe your talking about, Hira-Shuriken. They were ment however for distraction, and to stop an enemy.
Fukibari can penetrate through muscle and into bone if used with great skill. It would be hard to make a lethal hit without use of kakijutsu or poisoning though.

Yes, these houses are replicas.
There is not "a genuine article" in building such as this video.
Because, in Japan, there is much moisture.
It is difficult that we store old houses of such a material for 100 years.
On the other hand, there is old wooden building in Kyoto.
However, they are always restored.

I learned Chinese martial arts in my youth (a high school student) for 3 years.
However, I am not interested in martial arts afterwards.
It is the front from now on for five years that investigated about Shuriken in earnest.
In other words I began Shuriken-jutsu since I exceeded 40 years old. (^_^)

I do not like a person setting a discussion out of place.
Young generation of my country calls that a personit, in this way = "KY".
This meaning is,
The person whom it is "not felt an atmosphere of the place, and heart of someone else"
Please enjoy my slide show calmly.

Pardon me.
There "is not originality in what you write at all"
How do you want to suffer through martial arts? why you began martial arts?
I think that you had better analyze your self, "Who are you?(or ask yourself"Why do I live?") without comparing it with someone else.
I feel, you must be able to seem to do something more before than martial arts.
It is to "look self mental problem in the face" that is the most important.
Of course, these are my personal opinions.

[--About very important fact recognition--]
part-1
Bo-Shuriken and Star-shuriken hardly has a record used in the actual fighting.
In other words "the war record" is hardly left.
The record is only around 4 examples that Shuriken fight against a human being and Shuriken was won.
Besides, there are a more few things which then there is "not per chance".
Besides, there is record that Shuriken was defeated.
HouzanSuzuki 4 years ago
part-2
In other words Shuriken did not have value as a weapon in Japanese old war.
If it compared it with a spear, a bow, a sword, it was completely for nothing value.
If Shuriken includes value as a weapon, It is used as a main weapon by a lot more war, and the history is left.
However, most nothing is left.
In other words, in an Shuriken simple substance, it is "a fact" that is "very weak".
In addition to all of you, even Japanese people have a "fantasy toward Shuriken".
HouzanSuzuki 4 years ago
part-3
"Fiction movie and the comics" that people considered include the "big cause".
Ninjutsu was really used just extremely partly, but suppose it that was a threat purpose and combination with a sword.
It is for all of you to decide it "from now on" whether Shuriken and Knife throwing can be really to weapon and self-protection.
It is not for forged made-up story and authority to conclude it.
Because Shuriken does not have "clear history"that won in an old fight a lot.

part-4
Japanese blowgun dart is the reason the same as this, and please do not think that it was an effective weapon by war in reality.
Was an arbitrary weapon really effective in those days? It become a judgment standard whether "a lot of record right historically" is left.

What a beautiful location, what part of Japan is this? This was a very nice slideshow, I like how it's put with the music..
Were the blowguns ever used for hunting?

It is a village in lake"Saiko" in the foot of Mt. Fuji.
Name is "a village of healing".
These are not true old farm villages.
It is a Replica put up in a sightseeing spot.
By my personal sense, it is not offered the outskirts of Mt. Fuji to someone else as a sightseeing spot.
I recommend a trip to "Togakusi Shinto shrine" in Nagano Japan" ,,,,to all of you.

Thank you for
sacredfiredojo,
thewordupbro,
It may have been really used so long as I looked.
The reason is because a tree of an entrance of a pipe wears down by manual friction.
However, I cannot conclude the purpose of use to be it for war.
It may be what it used as hunting and a game.
I cannot do judgment of the times.
Chemical should be able to detect a trace of "vegetable poison" inside if It really used it.

A used blowgun dart in "really fight" is valuable and unusual in japan.
There are three kinds to a Japanese blowgun dart[Fukiya].
The thing that a woman and a visitor used one for a game in a Japanese red light district[brothel of Edo].
More one is a blowgun dart of the Ninjutsu that left in "Togakure-ryu."
The blowgun dart that last one was used for "the old time of civil strife.[The times of an internal disturbance in Japan]"

It is informed that It was shot by a Castle to the enemy whom there is underneath.
However, it is very vwry unusual for the goods to be left in this way.
Because It is different from a Japanese sword or old gun or old spear,
For the this reason, nobody recognizes the value, people think that it is a stick of an nothing value ordinary tree,
and there is much that it has been thrown away.
HouzanSuzuki 4 years ago
There may be few "curio" and value as "an art object".
however, there is scarcity value for "a researcher of an Japanese old weapon".
If it is me, I will follow a price of 10000 dollars to this simple stick of a tree.
Of course s price becomes a one-tenth, if it is a counterfe itimitation.
