I bought a new 10 cars set TGV Sud- Est on eBay from a train collector, Gave it some oil lubes, and it ran very smooth after few laps around track. The motor is a bit more noisy than my other TGVs. But, considering the age of this train set. I must say Kato did a very good job.
I am also tempting to close the gap between the motor car, and the passenger car by cut, shorten the coupler in the middle, and then insert the two ends into a small tube and glue them in. Anyone has other solution?
great! I also have the 10-198. The train is over ten years old and he drives very good with a DCC-Decoder. You can see it in one of my videos "Eurostar und TGV in 1:160 mit DCC Decoder"
@scotsoft29 Thank Scotsoft! I think the reason I like it is that it looks less like an airplane and more like a train! :-) I agree, that's a great track by Plastic Bertrand!

Great review! I agree with your rating system. The couplers are iffy, and makes too much space, but overall a very good model!

I like the angular look of these, when they round all the corners off I don't find them as attractive for some reason.
Also the Plastic Bertrand track is one of my all time favourites, it gets my foot tapping straight away - thank you for adding it.

I work for Alstom which developed the TGV. We got a N-Scale version of there new version TGV. I got to find out where they got it.
