Sorry for the delay , I haven't monitored this channel for some time. These koi come from many different farms in Japan thru various brokers. They range in size from 14" - 35" and cost varies by size, sex, age, and quality ( body shape, color depth & tone, pattern ). Would be difficult to recall the exact prices at the sizes they were purchased at. I will say the 3 step showa in this video is now 28" and has a value of aprox. 12,000 - 15,000USD.

You typically start out with a small koi, They grow rather quickly.

i live in texas and at the local pond shop here 6 inchers of what they call domestic koi are about 10 dollars
