These are most definitely not noiseless but that's kind of how P-90s should work. If you put the volume up to 10 on the guitar it hums quite a bit, but the snarl and bite is more than worth whatever hum you get. Plus, you could always pick up a decent noise gate pedal.

I have one, hums and buzzes like a bitch and feedbacks on high gain like a suck pig..this is after I had copper lined the body and filled the cavity up with hot wax... Routing out the body and sticking in a humbucker has cured it.. :/ Neck is also not much thicker than my cock which takes some getting used to.

I would love one of these guitars, but being left handed there's no chance, as with most manufacturers left handed people are discriminated against, good job I'm not Black, Asian, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, or have any other disability other than being left handed then I would take out a lawsuit against Fender for discriminatory actions against us lefty minorities, mind you if they would like to make just one and give it to me free of charge then I'll consider dropping the action against them.

I can't tell if those pick-ups are singles or humbuckers. Or, are they just in a class by themselves?

This guitar certainly has everything I'm interested in from a Tele, strong pick-ups, easy response (like my Epiphone Explorer), a 22-fret fingerboard, individual volume & tone controls for each pick-up and a semi-hollow body.

(The only thing I would change would be to make the fingerboard maple, but it wouldn't be a Jim Adkins guitar anymore, would it? I could always get another neck.)

@CircleCityEric it's got a set-neck, so you couldn't get another neck for it. fender makes another guitar, the classic player tele deluxe black dove, that has the same control configuration, p-90's, a maple neck and fretboard, but it's a solid body.

Maybe someday, if I become a superstar myself, I'll have Fender build me a signature model It would be like the Thinline, except with 22 frets and separate controls.

I went into a guitar center and i found this Epiphone Les Paul TV Special with p-90s for like $279 and it sounded like heaven. Twangier than my tele.. but i hated the neck and how it played.

Is this a good option for the insane twang in a lp special p-90? I want to make my own right now.

I nearly bought one of these recently. Tried it out in the shop and I loved it. The pickups are very good and the guitar seemed to be very good value for money but the thing that put me off buying it was the volume and tone knobs. They were so cheap and nasty and didn't even turn properly. A great shame because otherwise this is a great guitar.
