  • Until the part of the gears and shifting, everything else was a walk in the park.

DAMMIT, SLOOOOOOOOOWW DOWN on that part!

  • nice vid man,and you used a 929 ;D

  • ZOMG WHICH IS DA WINDSHEILDZ???!11

  • thanks for explaining some details, just started doing the license and it helped me a bit ;)

  • You moron

  • i hope you don't ride in those shoes, Nice Jacket but you need some boots, gloves and body armor

  • very immaculate... glad to learn it from you!

  • pretty nice one dude! thanks!

  • the gears confuse me can any1 give me some tips please

  • press down for first gear, after that you put your foot under the level and bring it up for second, third, etc.

In between 1st and 2nd is neutral, when in first you would move your foot up half the distance of a full gear change. Takes some getting used to but it's not hard.

  • For a cool explanation (easy):

Open your hand (either one), then flip it so your thumb is facing down. NOW:

*Your thumb would represent 1st Gear.

*The space between your thumb and your Index would be NEUTRAL. When you're riding, just shift a little bit, so you know (Some motorcycles have this).

Your Index, Middle, Ring and Pinky represent 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively. Some Motorcycles have a 6th Gear.

NOTE: Some Cycles, have a REVERSE! This applies to certain Bikes (i.e Honda Gold Wing)

  • there is no dipstick, theirs a sight glass instead!

  • Yeah I know. We just did one take and she kept that part in there.

  • a few older bikes do have dipsticks though, just not your cbr (and mine too)

  • I'd like to see more details on shifting properly.

  • There are two pegs on the motorcycle, one on each side. They are what you put your feet on. You place the arch (middle) of your foot on each peg. In front of the peg on the right side of the bike is the rear brake lever. You push the rear brake lever down with the tip of your foot to engage the rear brake.

  • In the video I actually was shifting the bike from 1st to 4th. So you push the shifter down and let it come back up to shift down a gear. You pull the shifter up and let it release to shift up a gear.

  • The throttle does have some resistance. If you roll the throttle back and let go of it, it will snap back to the starting position of no throttle. This is similar to a cars gas pedal. If you push the gas pedal the engine increases speed. When you let go of it, it goes to the starting position of idle (no gas).

  • On the left side is where the shifter is located. You use the tip of your foot (closer to your toes) to either push the shifter down or pull the shifter up. You push it down to go into lower gears (like from forth gear to 3rd gear and so on). First gear is the lowest gear.

  • The only sorta tricky part is neutral. It is located half way inbetween 1st gear and second gear. If you were in 1st gear you would pull up 1/2 as much as you would to shift a full gear. When you do so the neutral light will turn grenn(usually green) to indicate that you found neutral.

  • @curt248 Is it that way on all bikes or is that just standard. I'm really clueless when it comes to bikes but I'd really love to learn how to ride.

  • This is great, thanks. So there are two shifter pegs? One for first gear and the others? Do you have to shift down with the second peg and then the big peg? Also, on the bike how much pull do you have to use on the throttle? Does it give some resistance?

  • wow..i donno if you should get a motorcycle. lol

  • why not? i think you should...

  • I am but if someone thinks that there is a brake on the left AND right side of the bike...kinda makes me scared for the people around them.

Just think instead of braking they'll down shift the bike..gonna be like the people who hit the gas instead of the brake and go through a store window.

  • haha dont worry...

  • oh really i didnt know i must be really dumb

  • Are you saying you learned something or that it's way too basic? The purpose was just to inform those who have never had someone explain to them what each of the parts of a motorcycle are. Yes this is basic to the nth degree, but there are still some people who might learn something from this.

  • for the age 6 till 12?
