Can you tell me if the ax-1 has transpose on it, and what the control wheels are like? I am trying to buy either one of these or a Roland ax series right now...
thats sooo cool sounding! and so guitarlike. What distortion/overdrive are you using? That gotta have quite a lot to say in the shaping of that sound. Are you playing it through a guitar amp and miking it , or does it go straight into a mixer?
CZRider, one year after seeing this amazing vid, I painted my own keytar and am following in your footsteps. (See video response, below.) THANK YOU CZRIDER!!! PS I STILL can't figure out how you shred like that lol.
i gotta go dry myself off sweeeet...i used jam with my stuff for hrs on end back in the day and people would walk by and ask who was the band ...just me and my toys...coool nothing like analog baby...smile
The AZ-1 is great, but I love it in the original white with the blue CASIO logo. Sorry, I ain't into flames and stuff for paint jobs.... Nice performance though. But to my taste it would look so much cooler if you kept the Casio in its original livery...
Hey CZRider! Please help! I also have a custom-painted AZ-1, but the bender does not work. My technician said he can fix it with a Service Manual, but I just can´t find any... Can you help me?
That sounds great! Loving the sequence especially... Old style TD if you chill the guitar (keytar!) a bit LOL!! Class! Thanks for posting, you've made my night.. And do post another one for the full 10 mins with that sequence & a few effects... for some great Rubicon nostalgia.
Sounds great! I just bought myself a az-1 and I´m trying to figure out how to get it working.lol. What kind of synth module do you need to get any sound out of it?
Comming close to replicating the expressiveness of guitar, except the different attack than that of a pick on the strings is a give away that it's a keyboard. Good playing! I like this whole thing...the work put into it, the sound...Cool!
That is the standard Casio CZ guitar patch. Would be preset 71 on a CZ-230S and a similar on the CZ-1. There was a red patch book by Casio with the settings written out and the comment at the bottom - use with distortion pedal.I have a site with CZ sysex downloads that include these.
Is your left hand only using the pitch bend wheel? Or, are you using some other control with your left hand, too? Watched several times and can't quite tell. Thx.
Great job!

Why? Don't you think it is better to replace Porl's guitar with this keytar instead of the person himself? :D

My god - I thought those CZ synths were only capable of really ugly sounds :D But this kicks serious ass... ;)
