was mcgrath drinking prior to that match and the knee injury was a cover? Amazing how well he played between all his demons insecurities and dodgy knees. A legend of a player. I dont like the Englsih studios obvious condescending attitude towards the Irish team..at least Greaves saves it a bit by saying the players are class.

That was on a Wednesday I think. Before the floodlights were installed so it was on in the afternoon, while I was stuck in school.

Jesus, talking bout us winning the european cup, we wernt even there in the end. I'm gona miss landsdowne lookin at it there. It was a tough place for anyone to come and play. I seen the new avivia a few times there last week, looks real nice from the outside, lets hope it carries the landsdowne atmosphere, not like croker (for football)

typo, sorry mate, meant to say MY first ever irish game i ever went to. as for mcgrath its in his book he admitted he got drunk and couldnt get off the bus. sad really. mcgrath might even have played in 85 im not sure.
