Hi, you'll be as glad to find as I was that Jem is being reran on the Hub. I remembered Jem from when I was little, but I'd almost forgotten about it until I saw a tribute page on the internet in the early 00s, so it's great to relive childhood memories.
I just came across your video and it's cool to see a face with the voice of Jem whom I've watched faithfully as a kid. Let me tell ya even the guys on our street watched it! There was no shame in it at all. We all watched everything from Jem and the Holograms, Beverly Hills Teens-I think that's the name of that teen cartoon-to He-man to She-ra and will all still watch it together just for old times sake! Thanks for this video and bringing back good memories.
I grew up with three sisters and they love watchng this so being the youngest, i had no choice but to watch it with them. I love that show since cause of its creativity and fashion sense. I watch it with my daughter now. Thanks samantha for all those wonderful memories.

Hello Sam. While most of my friends back in the 80s skipped Gem during the Supercade Saturday show that also featured Big Foot and the Muscel Machines and Robotix, my younger brother and myself used to watch this show all the time! Even thou most folks think of Gem as a show for Girls, I am proud to say Im a guy who loved watching this show along side all the popular 80s cartoons, like Transformers and G.I. Joe amoung others. THANK YOU for making Gem an awesome show! I also watch Gem on the HUB!

It was a complete surprise to me that Jem had different singing and talking voices. You sound just the same! I love your sound. I use to have a crush on your voice in the 80's. You're awesome!
@mcgervey Ok, allow me to clarify this. I did check out some of Sam's videos after this and she has a great voice (which is obvious since she was the acting voice). I think Britta's voice was obviously well suited for the type of compositions and music that they used in the cartoon, while Sam's voice was also well suited for the speaking. This was a long time ago, and each certainly at that time had different strengths! Both quite beautiful, which didn't come across in a cartoon either!

Sam, I just wanted to thank you for doing the Jem cartoon. For the 1980s, there was definitely a lot of pre-teen drama in that show that dealt with real life situations that evolved throughout the years. You and Britta did an awesome job.
@EzarikX As a Voice over artist we get called on to bring to life many different characters from deep sexy sultry to obnoxious teen to different accents and then roles like JEM and JERRICA. Other actors on JEM also played different roles and you may not recognize them from their normal speaking voice either, like Charlie Adler was both Techrat and also Eric Raymond and Patricia was Pizzazz and also one of the Starlight little girls - hope that helps - Stay Outrageous Xo
@Samanthanewark did you hear that Shout Factory is re-releasing the DVD set of Jem and that it is now being shown on the Hub Network. I hope they have you, Patricia, and Townsend voice Jem, Pizzazz, and Riot again like how Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are voicing Optimus Prime and Megatron again. Also what can you tell me about Noelle North, what is she like.
So I've been working really hard on the script and formulating everything. Kristine W. International Techno and dance star has agreed to be Jem. I got in contact with Christy. Just waiting for her response. I contacted one of the execs from Hasbro studios on facebook, so things should hopefully be taking off pretty soon. I'm so excited for this project

Good luck with your album Samantha! I had grown up with my lil sister watching Jem. I was recently housebound with agoraphobia after a near death experience and I watched all the Jem episodes here on youtube. I down loaded the songs onto my ipod and I love to listen to the Jem songs. It really helps me get out and go. I just wanted to say thanks for that!
I think we need to make a movie of a washed up Jem working as a lot lizard because her career is over and she spent all her money on coke! A truck pulls up, but it's Optimus Prime and he's driven by a fat and much older He-Man! She gets in, they get beyond the weirdness of knowing each other, catch up, and then it fads out... That's really funny to me!
and the music was great don't forget the music I was always listening and some times singing along I recently had friend who needed chearing up and I thought of your music right away jem and the holograms always did the trick for me. As a straight boy (8-11 yo) with no sisters, i couldn't help watching Jem. The stories were good and always left you wanting more (the cliffhangers Yukon mentioned).
More than anything, it was probably the voice that had me hooked. =)
ummm...us straight boys watched it cuz the stories were good and it was PACKED with very cute girls...plain and simple....the stories were actually quite good and every girl on the show was totaly hoy
Jem was marketed to boys brilliantly on Super Saturday.
I loved the Inhumanoids and would've love Bigfoot if it were a better cartoon. But when Jem came on in between, i just turned the channel and watched the Smurfs.
But Jem always had these great cliffhangers and it sucked me in. It was better than Inhumanoids and Bigfoot COMBINED!
So by the time Jem went to a half hour show I was already hooked.

I still have my Jem/Jerrica doll which I had for my 10th birthday. I can't part with her or my 3 other Jem dolls: Pizzazz, Rock N' Curl Jem and Video. 22 years on, my 10 year old daughter loves to watch the 2 Jem video cassettes I've still got. Jem was escapism for me in my childhood days. Good times!

@Samanthanewark did you hear that Shout Factory is re-releasing the DVD set of Jem and that it is now being shown on the Hub Network. I hope they have you, Patricia, and Townsend voice Jem, Pizzazz, and Riot again like how Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are voicing Optimus Prime and Megatron again. Also what can you tell me about Noelle North, what is she like.

So I've been working really hard on the script and formulating everything. Kristine W. International Techno and dance star has agreed to be Jem. I got in contact with Christy. Just waiting for her response. I contacted one of the execs from Hasbro studios on facebook, so things should hopefully be taking off pretty soon. I'm so excited for this project

@angelusfroid Hey there, I think you can google Christy Marx official website and connect with her via email that way and as far as Hasbro I don't know other than I would go on the official Hasbro website also and see what you can find out by emailing whatever contact people are listed. Fans often are confused since I'm a singer so I go a bit into the history of how that all came about with casting etc...

awesome! I'm so glad I found your video here! Another JemBoy here (straight)... loved the cartoon (though Transformers were still my favorite, lol). I always thought they should do a music CD. And I was disappointed they discontinued the DVD, I never managed to get a copy. Anyway, great memories, and I always remembered your voice as Jerrica, it was very distinctive and had this caring quality to it.

lol.. I admit I watched it. The station that played the Sunbow cartoons in the London area (WUAB 43 Cleveland) would play it alongside Bigfoot, GI Joe, or Inhumanoids. I used to root for the villains in the show. :-p

Hi Samantha, this is Max Brand writing you from Toronto. I used to watch Jem back in the late 80-'s and it's a supershow which I would watch before headinmg out to Work Experience. These were the eighties and all the episodes aree all good and bring possitive messages.. AWESOME!!! I loved watching Jem and the Holograms!!:) Been trying to find the third season on DVD--it's tough! Good luck on the music career! I will be checking out your stuff--but please don't "sell-out" like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and so many other people do with secret societies, just to be famous! Then I'll just be disappointed...true talent doesn't need to be compromised with that mumbo jumbo!:)

ok im a 34 yr old coal miner .... and i used to get up at 6 in the morning to watch jem. lol. we are to expected to be such hardasses but i loved it. My grandfather is hitting me with a shovel from his grave. but i loved it none the less. going to check out your album. much luck :)

Holy shiitaki mushrooms. I....I absolutely L-O-V-E Jem and the Holograms! And now I get to see the face of the voice of one of my favorite female cartoon heroine. Jem always had a special place in my memories of influential cartoons growing up in the 80s.
And to know that you dropped a album, holy crap, I'm going to hunt for it now.

Hearing you speak now, (*I was 9 when Jem started) is like finding a long-lost friend. Glad to hear your singing too! That is great! Good luck with your album Samantha! I had grown up with my lil sister watching Jem. I was recently housebound with agoraphobia after a near death experience and I watched all the Jem episodes here on youtube. I down loaded the songs onto my ipod and I love to listen to the Jem songs. It really helps me get out and go. I just wanted to say thanks for that!

I think we need to make a movie of a washed up Jem working as a lot lizard because her career is over and she spent all her money on coke! A truck pulls up, but it's Optimus Prime and he's driven by a fat and much older He-Man! She gets in, they get beyond the weirdness of knowing each other, catch up, and then it fads out... That's really funny to me!

Yes I am a guy but most of my friends growing up were girls so it was cool to them to know I loved the show one even had a tap that came with the dolls of the songs her perents got tired of listening to and threw it away

Yukon and zoidburg are right on the money.
As a straight boy (8-11 yo) with no sisters, i couldn't help watching Jem. The stories were good and always left you wanting more (the cliffhangers Yukon mentioned).
More than anything, it was probably the voice that had me hooked. =)

Jem was marketed to boys brilliantly on Super Saturday.
I loved the Inhumanoids and would've love Bigfoot if it were a better cartoon. But when Jem came on in between, i just turned the channel and watched the Smurfs.
But Jem always had these great cliffhangers and it sucked me in. It was better than Inhumanoids and Bigfoot COMBINED!
So by the time Jem went to a half hour show I was already hooked.
I'm a PC and I'm a Jemboy.

I still have my Jem/Jerrica doll which I had for my 10th birthday. I can't part with her or my 3 other Jem dolls: Pizzazz, Rock N' Curl Jem and Video. 22 years on, my 10 year old daughter loves to watch the 2 Jem video cassettes I've still got. Jem was escapism for me in my childhood days. Good times!

my wife and I are huge fans of your show. We picked up the now out of print dvd sets a few years ago and the eps are great! We always thought Barbie and The Rockers were lame compared to Jem and the Holograms. Glad you are doing well and we wish you all the success in the world!

i think alot of strait boys liked it cuz the girls were so freakin cute...on the jem cartoon i mean
