Is it different between the army mp's and the national guard mp's?

@allmightyjuanito the national gaurd's mps will work the fob overseas while the active duty will go out on missions (in most cases) and active duty will do law enforcement on the post that they are assigned to where national gaurd will work security for some big things that happen in their states.

@sahlztheman99 National Guard MP's are on the front lines and run missions with all other active duty personnel. Once one active duty there is no difference bettwen National Guard and Active duty. I was not on a FOB when I was deployed, I was kicking in doors and on patrol.

@Atony94 it depends if your active or reserve if active then yes you should go to an airborne unit if reserve then youll just be with regular mps

@VioletRaynne From what i know from my unit women do basically the same stuff but i believe you are still left out of the front line combat, not entirely sure, hope this helps.

@SasukeUchiha11100 well right now im reserve and my unit is in a small little town called big bend,wv but ive been to ft leonard wood, mo and ft dix, nj i was also preparing for a deployment over seas and got injured during training so im currently waiting for my next chance to go over

lol i know i was in infantry for only 2 months but eh the bond is felt no matter what. they discharged me bc of failing to meet hearin standards so im trying to get in the NG and so far so good just hope it happens

um to those who dont know it MPs actually do come into firefights and it isnt always guarding a prison or base sometimes its patrolling in afghan and iraq and they do get into like i said earlier firefights so dont think they arent like any other soldiers or infantry men bc they do the same and then some

that is very true we are actually very similiar to a heavy mounted infantry when the infantry needs more firepower they call us because we are some of the most heavly gunned soldiers on the battlefield a typical mp squad has 9 or 10 different types of weapons where as most just have 2 or 3

we mp's are normal soldiers and were not hated by anyone some soldiers dislike us but dont break the law and you dont have to worry about it same as in the civilian world me myself ive never been garrison im a combat mp

@SasukeUchiha11100 well your recruiter is wrong combat mp depends on the unit you go into some units are garrison and some like mine are combat you dont really get to pick it just depends on where they send you combat mp's are a lot like a mounted infantry and when they need heavy fire power they call on us and we come running
