The only real future lies in large scale speedbox production: Switchgrass fuel pellets for power generation (coal replacement / augment, stored in piles on the ground: no storage tanks), and ethanol and 2-5-dimethylfuran (dimethohol) from strawberry mass for electric and hybrid fuel / electric cars. The 20:1 land use efficiency alone decides it, since land must be available for biofuel production without displacing food production.
The 5 year delay may have already guaranteed nuclear war between the USA and China over the remaining crude oil. Since a factual strategic and tactical analysis shows that China would easily win this war, with most of their population intact, while the USA would be annihilated, I would prefer not to witness or experience it.
Rapid implementation of the speedbox is the only means of avoiding this outcome, assuming that it still can be avoided.
It is frightening how pathetic Sapphire Energy's slime fuel project is as compared to my project.
Mine costs 1/9th as much and produces somewhere between 5.4 times (based on their original prospectus) and 981 times as much (based on their recent web interview production estimates) usable fuel.
But more frightening is that they managed to connive $400 million in grants and loan guarantees, where I get beat down almost into the ghetto, and suffer a 5 year delay due to internet censorship.
@MaxTeichman Obama is the most outspoken leader we have ever had supporting biofuels. Not sure why he has to fight so many on the right (tom coburn, James Inhofe) to make domestic jobs producing energy. Obama, Tom Vilsack, and Steve Chu are the main folks fighting to produce energy here instead of buying it overseas. I'd like to see a republican prez canidate or tea party canidate stand up for the same things
@MaxTeichman That is simply not true. Conversion wise, corn is one of the easisest things to convert to alchohol. We have ran ethanol in our farm equipment for 5 generations. Our local plant has been running for 30 years and uses less than 3 gallons of water to make one gallon of fuel. Compare that to one single newspaper which takes 5 gallons of water to make. Every independent study done on ethanol has shown a 53%-57% energy POSITIVE. I would like to see a reference to your statistics.
!!!!!!!!! ~ AMAZING ~ !!!!!! YES, I saw the whole movie. ~ SOooooo IMPORTANT!!!! These wonderful people have done deep research and uncovered how the ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT was lied to in order to keep us from the benefits of Ethanol ..... and turn the whole USA around financially!!!!! ~ A MUST SEE & PLEASE SHARE THIS!!!! ~ MANY THANKS!!! ~ Shastina Free, from: Graceful Spontaneous Evolution ~ on the web.
This movie was full of hope for a better world for us all! Let's begin to see the possibilities for alternative fuel as a reality to end global warming and create a sustainable future for all! Thank you Josh and Rebecca for your eye opening film! Loved seeing it in Sedona and I know it will make a big difference around the world!
Saw the premiere of the full feature rough cut in Santa Monica last night (8/14/11). It made a difference in educating my teens. Wrote a review on my bioconversion blog @bioblogger
Only 3,000 views?!!? And yet Justin Bieber has over a billion! I don't understand??? This is the problem with the people in this world....apathy. No body cares....until one day when it all comes crashing down on their heads like a house of cards! The people will ask why...how could this happen? Personally I think it's time for humans to end.
Can't wait to see it!! This should really be pushed in the small towns too! Small town people tend to think that the global crisis isn't going to affect them for some reason. They need to see that every person, no matter where can make a difference.

Yet Jason fundraises for Obama.
Which is a total oxymoron.

...thanks for responding.
But biofuels is an even bigger oxymoron.
...If you only knew the facts...
Biofuels/Corn, costs more to convert than anything else going now....BY TEN COUNTRY MILES!
The American political system is corrupt by ten country miles too.
