i just don't understand. i keep intersecting my life with a woman who is really the most amazing woman i've ever known, and we're together for a few months and something always pulls us apart. i i'm living the cruel joke version of this movie.
This movie is so memorable that years(!) after seeing it "popped" into my head and I could not remember the name of it. It nearly drove me crazy trying to think of the name. I never forgot the soundtrack-which lead me to find it again. So perfect!
Me too, saw it many years ago. And Of course, this little face while hearing about his wife sickness, since I saw that movie first time, IS, IS, for me THE best scene ever seen, all movies. And... I typed a lot about my story here, but deleted it pefore posting that message, my story makes a tooo much good story for Hollywood, and I do not want somebody else take the idea. And I dont do it, even if I could, because I studied screenplay writing, I have a good story, in my heart. M
Since the first time I saw this movie, back in 1988 a bout a week after my ex left me for my best friend :(...This has been my number one favorite....this particular part kills me every time!!!!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
The part where his 'mother' (from previous life) admits she is dying and the father is sleeping in the back seat, but he is really awake and pretends to be asleep and the camera goes to him and he is weeping... that part reduces me to tears every time i see it. God, this movie is so awesome. Thank you again.
Yes. I see that now... It sure is moving! It really is a shame how under-rated this movie is. So many people I talk to have either never heard of it, or they just don't 'get it'. I remember renting this movie back in 1995 and watching it with my girlfriend at the time. She said it was 'one of the most boring movies she ever saw'. To me, that showed me how shallow she was. Some people just don't see it - the beauty that is within it.

I think whats more deep is that shovel in heaven becoming the trumpet on earth eventualy being the "IDEA"
But only after elmo figured it out by HARD WORK
Then he found the tune, then he found the rythym, .
And BTW he also got the girl.
Awesome stuff

Yep! One of the most affecting scenes I've watched in any movie; it jerks the tears out every time. Anne Wedgeworth is just phenomonal.

I agree. I wrote almost the same thing in the informational panel at the top right. When Steve weeps, its believeable.
