  • @eat9bologna9peasant: Perhaps the last laugh will be on you. No coal plant has gone off line due to wind energy. In fact, the ramping up and down of power plants increases emissions when unreliable wind energy is added to the grid. Add more natural gas power plants? Then Big Oil will monopolize electricity, too. If you have, in fact, just moved next to a 40 or 50-story wind turbine, be careful what you wish for, and let's hope you are not exposing children to low frequency and dirty electricity.

  • check out "Epidemiologist testifies on wind turbine related health effects"

  • hahahaha!!! I just moved near one of these turbines. Sleeping like a baby and lovin' the clean energy it's producing.... let me take a deep breath of fresh air in rejoice (air that the turbine has prevented thousands of lbs. of coal emissions from squandering)

  • @tinksdestiny

    mge.com/Environment/Green/wind/rosiere.htm

They are all very upset, unhealthy, and beat down from the turbines next to their home... doesn't it look like that to you??

  • Paid mercenary supposed experts. No one has their hands out for payment that live in wind projects. They have their hands out to express the truth. Wind energy is the next big bubble. Too much money to be made by investors and Wall Street. American tax dollars are currently supporting this scam. Can we afford it? Where is the compassion? Who are we, America?

  • Once again there has been another Independent Study that shows Wind turbines DO NOT CAUSE HEALTH EFFECTS. People need to stop putting their hands out and get educated on the TRUTH about turbines.

    mass.gov/dep/energy/wind/impactstudy

  • My, my, my I smell a few wind lobbyists. Anyone from the state of Wisconsin?

  • WTF!!! Build a nuke plant next to these people , they will be much happier , Hey moron Ill give 500.00 for your house . LOL!!! We have lived right next to 200 wind turbines for 25 years MM??? no effects , want to know why ?? were getting paid LOL!!!!! Just pay these idiots and they will shut it

  • @jettmicheal Your a moron!

  • Scientists in New Zealand, who have actually gone out into wind turbine farms to take measurements, have found that the cyclic low frequency sound coming from wind turbines is triggering the fight or flight response that is wired into all of us. This leads to sleeplessness, high blood pressure, a rapid pulse, and other maladies. They say that the setbacks from homes should be 2 KM or more. Hear them speak in the film Pandora's Pinwheels. One of them,Daniel Shepherd has a PhD in psychoacoustics.

  • ANOUTHER Study that proves wind turbines DO NOT cause health effects. People need to get educated with the FACTS!!!! and stop putting their hand out like they are owed something. Boston Globle - Wind turbines don't cause health effects

  • @Realtruth454 What Wind Company do you work for?

  • @dealmaker55 My employment is not the subject matter.

  • NorthernWes , you said it yourself "not sufficiently proven human health impacts". Proves once again there are NO scientific facts that support all of these people’s claims. Only that the squeaky wheel gets paid. If there was any TRUTH to this then how can millions of people survive daily working and living by these turbines? And there are no successful lawsuits on this subject. Because turbines DO NOT cause health effects!!!

  • CanWEA's job is to maximize the # of IWTs built in Canada.

It is not their job to publish complaints/negative response to their product.

It is their job to minimize setbacks.

It is their job to marginalize/refute any published negative feedback.

It is their job to ensure IWTs can be built in conservation areas, near airports and as close to people as possible.

It is their job to ensure regulatory oversight is reduced to a minimum.

    That is why CanWEA exists.

  • RealTruth454 is uninformed of the issue. The current definitive debate of human health impacts from wind turbines is published at the Environmental Review Tribunal for the Kent-Breeze Wind Farm (found via Google). The tribunal judged while the appellant had not sufficiently proven human health impacts, it was not debatable about whether human health impacts were real but to what degree wind turbines affected human health. Current SCIENCE on this is found at April 2011 WTN2011 proceedings.

  • This is another prime example of people that are uneducated with the FACTS that windturbines do NOT cause health effect and are looking for a pay out. 0003ooo3 the closes turbine is 1100 ft from my house and I get no payments from it. That's the FACTS, do your homework before making false comments.

  • Why are there edits when people are talking? What are they trying to hide? Maybe the FACT that wind turbines do NOT cause health effects. Proven FACTS in this link!!! canwea.ca/pdf/talkwind/Wind_Turbine_Sound_and_Health_Effects

  • @Realtruth454 you are such an idiot realtruth, just go and try to live in the homes that have been abandoned because industrial turbines were so close , clear creek ontario has some for you , be honest to yourself go and try it . give yourself some realtruth .

  • The drop in property value says it all. These monsters pollute , make you puke and literally kill wildlife and livestockl Thank you econazi fags .

  • @Max01388 LOL! couldn't have said it better myself. Don't forget about the econazi people in California that don't want you to cut your grass because you might kill an endangered rat and don't want you to cut down trees to make a fire break because you might kill an endangered frog. OH AND OF COURSE the whole damn forest burns down because of it, frogs rats trees and all. What a waste.

  • The B.S. is what is happening right under the noses of the American public. Tax dollars going to wind development for a form of renewable energy that doesn't work, and it is making people sick to boot. Shirley isn't the first wind installation that has made residents sick. How do you think all that electricity gets back to the power plant? And it is not just dirty pollution causing problems. Research low frequency. Let's hear from other victims of wind.

  • I feel bad that they feel sick, but it is just 100% undebatable bullshit that wind turbines, or any sort of electrical power generation, could be causing this. This video is a perfect example of improper correlation. If you want to prove something is damaging you, describing how you feel it has affected you is the /worst/ way to gain support! find an independent third party who can verify the claim.

If it /really/ made them sick, any lawyer would take the case for free.

  • @umphreakinout your post 100% proves you r part of the population that's been lead astray. It doesn't take very much research 2 find that this is factual, & is happening world-wide. Setbacks in most countries r measured in kilometers or miles 2 help lessen the harmful effects. In WI setbacks are measured in FEET from houses, not property lines. The amount of $ the pro-wind lobbists have access 2 is almost un-countable. Tuff to fight against our tax dollars & money comming in from over seas.

  • I favor clean energy, but industrial wind should only be done responsibly by fully aware informed participating landowners with setbacks from non-participants of at least ten-rotor diameters or more. Wind developers should be held responsible it they site turbines where the non-participants health, livelyhood and property values are affected.

  • These people live a mile away

The town oif Fairhaven is facing a major health and financial disaster and the town leaders just refuse to listen to the data. Oh sorry they do listen to the

studies funded by the wind industry which they refer to. Would you listen to a study on the health effects of smoking if the tobacco industry funded the study.

We are in a fight fort the health and safety of our community and we will win.

The Town faces class action litigation of 50 to 70 million.

  • The Town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts is going to install two Chinese Sinovel wind turbines 900 feet from residential homes.

The Town of Falmouth,Massachusetts has documented 50 residents ill around the Falmouth Wind 1 turbine . Gov Patrick said when the Falmouth Wind 1 turbine was turned on :" If you want to see the future come to Falmouth" Today the Falmouth Wind 1 turbine has been shut down !

The Town of Fairhaven is going forward under the Green Communities Act- No abutter notice!

  • I know/have met some of thses people & others from various communities hosting wind turbines. This video truely has only a small sample of people having these types of problems with wind turbines. My prayers go out to anyone who has to live near these behemoths.

Everytime I drive pass the shirly wind farm it makes me cringe.

  • Yeah...I'm calling BS. This is just a case of people crying NIMBY, not actual health effects.

  • @velocityhead Are you a doctor? What evidence do you have that these people didn't tell the truth? These problems are happening all over the world. People just don't abandon their homes.

  • I went to LSU medical school. I have been involved with the wind issue for over 2 years now and have followed the development of known published literature. I try to evaluate from a evidence-based viewpoint and the evidence is overwhelming that irresponsible siting leads to sleep disturbance, low frequency sound problems. Not to mention property rights issues with non-host land owners.

  • @hscuzz again, do you have any specific information to share? As a person who went to medical school, you ought to know illusory causation when you see it. It should be trivial to prove otherwise if there is so many studies out there.

  • @HighSpeedSlowMotion I have an extensive bibliography. Unable to post links to web sites in the comments. I will email the bibliography to anyone who posts their email in reply.

  • It is doubtful that in the near term they make any economic sense especially without government and tax subsidies (remember Solendra). Lets face the facts be responsible with our actions.

  • @hscuzz Solyndra is a solar company, which shows that you know exactly nothing about the argument you're trying to make. Get a clue and move out of the country, hillbilly. We don't need your sprawl, or your lies.

  • @ponchosuperstar5 Yes, I know Solyndra "was" a solar company. The point being is that neither wind nor solar is economically viable unless our taxpayer go to subsidies. It is often not even viable when they have our money (Solyndra). And the end result is more taxpayer burden with higher energy costs.

  • @hscuzz Until oil prices skyrocket, invest in new tech and reap the rewards down the road or stick with the old and deal with the consequences. Again, get a clue.

  • @ponchosuperstar5 Agreed. I think our politicians need to get their act together. This country is long overdue for a comprehensive energy policy that includes nuclear, hydro, coal, nat gas, domestic oil AND wind and solar. By relying on all these, we will rely less on foreign. With more supply the cost would likely decrease too. The original statement was simply that these 500 ft tall wind turbines do not belong close to residential areas.

  • As a physician who has read and studied this issue, I think that wind energy sited close to people is irresponsible and dangerous. The solution is simple - place wind turbine developments in remote areas, away from people and domestic animals. Our legislators, and the neighbors who host them should consider these testimonials and read the current scientific literature.

  • @hscuzz What medical school did you go to? Have any links to share?
