This looks to be an entertaining blind run...I remember the very first time I played this game, I was 6 or 7 and didn't know how to equip anything, managed to get to the first boss and I think the absolute most damage I did to him was like a 13 point crit.
Note that the red mage cannot learn all spells -- the Harm the Heal family for example. It gets even worse from magic level 5 onward. Also not all equipment is equippable by everyone. In later versions characters would dance if they could equip the items/spells. So... if you're doing this blind I'd suggest some saving then buying.
(For now you'll want the Fi+RM with Rapiers and Chain, WM with iron hammer+cloth and BM with dagger+cloth)
i'll be doing a GBA Final Fantasy 1 playthrough pretty soon myself. good luck is all i can say since most dungeons are mazes. Enjoy one of my favorite RPG's.
uh not to suggest that this playthrough is still going
but anyway I'm curious about the speed, well maybe a future video will clarify

@Bananadine The game is run at 120 fps, when the standard is 60 fps.
The commentary is done while the game is played.
Finally, this playthrough is still going, and videos are being added every few days.

are you doing a blind playthrough at double speed, that's pretty weird
or are the speedup and commentary added afterward

Red Mage - Cure, Sleep, and either Fire or Lit.

@philsovwastaken Well, I recorded 2 more videos before this one was finished uploading, so I will be sure to take your suggestions for part 4 lol

Red Mage should learn Cure and Sleep. Sleep is underrated since it can hit all enemies and they dont wake up from being attacked!
