  • awww my cockatiel boy loves beak banging me feet and hands :)

  • My Timneh and my Jardine's both do things like this. It's just play, all in good fun.

  • This bird is normal and hormonal. People should do their research on parrot behaviors and breeding. The bird is frustrated and not something to laugh at, really.

  • My Quaker does this too, and makes a soft hissing sound every time he makes contact with the skin?

    Strange. I wonder if it's a good thing :S

  • to me it seems a little "risky" teaching a parrot to "bite" all tho i dont think that was a bite.

    cute bird, when i get a house i want a parrot !

  • so sad that eccy looks ill ,get the bird checked out by a vet ,you need a kick up the arse for treating these great birds that way.

  • hell yeah ive got one of theese birds his name is uli and we take such care of him that he hasent lost a fever

  • Everytime you make that "ow" sound you're training him to bite you back, unless you enjoy that kind of play

  • lol! thats how my eclectus plays!! it doesnt hurt or anything and its really funny. sometimes he opens his wings when he does that lol

  • Aww such a cutie! My eclectus does that to.. except he does it to his cage when he gets excited or really happy.

  • The head banging is a courtship thing, my eclectus does it too. He loves you! The over preening could be through the previous bad diet or boredem, I hope it improves soon. You can get cones to stop them doing this xx

  • its not a sign of loving, mine does that with his toys when hes just playing

  • some birds love their toys... a lot. my has a thinks its rabbit toy is its mate

  • for all you bird nuts, the bird is fine, you shoudn't go making stupid assumptions based on a 3mp youtube video that is 1:00 long.

  • He is playing with you..my african grey does the same.way cute!!

  • That "head banging" behavior is characteristic of your bird wanting to regurgitate & offer food to you as he would for a mate, it is also a sign of "love".

As for the over preening or plucking comment from Tanglewood: please do not be so quick to judge why a bird's feather condition looks the way that it does. Often times, plucking is caused by a very serious brain disorder that no amount of treatment, love or drugs can cure. Tammi

  • Sorry you are so upset but Rhett was very silly. We just had him temporarily he was kept in a very small cage by a very weird guy for 13 years and fed only pellets that is why he looked like that. I think I know about eclectus since we have about 75 parrots and some look like that regardless of what they are fed!

  • ah, molting.

    cutie.

  • is he a rescue bird? He looks pretty rough

  • At first I thought he was really biting him and was waiting for his hand to go red then bleed. Until I read the video discription, I was relieved. A real cute and smart eclectus you got there.

  • Aw! He's so funny.

  • hey nice video....mom

  • wow
