@stardusth2o It's only a matter of when, not if, she'll get famous. She's on another level compared to any previous contestant on The Voice, I'm sure of that.
@mellynumerounoo Primohomme, BZBlaner and I are probably gonna be watching The Voice a LOT next season of Ferrett's in on the action. The comedic moments should be NUMEROUS if she picks Team XTina. Amateurs and lessors beware.
@SuperPianogirl123 I know actually haha. I've heard the Lisa Fischer song before (where it came from) and I do agree there. But there's no better comedy to me than an HV note shattering the remnants of The Noise's chords.
@TheZenomeProject@Stefano94x was right about her F6 being nowhere as good as the original G6, but i'm sure he would find her destroying The Noise to be as funny as I would
@SuperPianogirl123 Some of the snobbier ones on here (looking at you, Stefano94x LOL) have complained about the musicality of her head voice, but I doubt they would complain if she used D6 or F6 to drown out The Noise LOL.
I love what I'm hearing so far, and I ESPECIALLY hear an incredible amount of potential in her head voice. But the way she uses it at the moment is a tad overdone, and I can only really handle it in short doses. Though extremely intense, it lacks vibrato, giving her head voice a piercing sound that often gives me headaches in large doses.
I LOVE HER. She reminds me of the great Patti LaBelle :D And honestly, I don't think she should change the way she sings in her head voice because it shows just how powerful she can be. So much volume, and so much resonance.
She definitely knows how to take a full, connected & intense sound up there. Too bad most of these notes (in the sixth octave) lack vibrato. It would sound so much more musical, like the ones at 4:16 & 4:22.
She reminds me very much of Patti: You can have a tremendous technique, but sing with zero musical intelligence.
@BZBlaner Thanks! Yeah, she's definitely capable of producing smooth, floaty, ethereal-sounding head tones, but it seems that she prefers to sing them in a way that sort of sounds like she's still belting...you know what I mean? Like the G#5 I chose for her belts...I was on the fence as to whether I should put that down as a belt or a head note, because although it was clearly a head-driven tone, it still seemed to be backed by some "chest."
@BZBlaner i partially agree with the vibrato, its sounds great when it ends a note, but now-a-days everyone does vibrato, especially when its that high
@im18dammit100 Lol, yeah her head voice is really really loud and a bit overbearing. She just needs to lighten up the tone a bit, so that it's more sweet and ethereal sounding, as head notes should be. LOL, I pulled that last clip (the F6) from her myspace, and after she did it the guy was like "Uh...ok Steph, you just cracked Hector's eyeglass" lol
oooo sanp thankyouer!!! I been waitin for something like this!! this gurl can sang!! I saw on Tyler perry a few years ago and was amazed!!! Thanks again great vid!
@Stefano94x Heller friend! I'm glad you enjoyed her! I agree! Her headvoice sound is sooo....ugly. I liked her HV notes much better on "Fire and Desire" but all around whoooo. Would somebody be able to fix that though? Her belts are amazing though. Those are her strong points
@mellynumerounoo I agrre!! That's why I love her ntoes in "Fire and Desire" they were much better. I also agree with you on your other comment, she should just lighten the tone and add some sweetness. Then she'd definity be beatsin!! Her belts are wonderful though!!!
@stardusth2o She's going to be on The Voice, do, we'll see

@SuperPianogirl123 It was an E6 in Lisa's version....the "how can I" part. The G6 was when she said "give me all or nothing at all"

I also love how her upper chest belts have a shitload of vibrato on them, even between F5-A5. Her G5s in particular are gorgeous.

Teena Marie's soul is embedded in this girl!!!! I gonna download this album!!
Its singers like Stephanie Ferrett and Adele that should be putting beyonce and rhianna out of business!!!

But that high F in How Can I Ease The Pain is a MESS! Nowhere near the musicality of the original.

@mellynumerounoo I think with the G#, she kind of growled it, and lightened the tone. But it's still classified as a belt IMO.
